Cardi B reveals “Big Paper” almost didn’t make it on ‘Khaled Khaled’ - REVOLT

Cardi B's song was a last-minute addition to DJ Khaled's new album Khaled Khaled — and fans are loving it. The Bronx-bred rap queen was trending on Twitter Friday morning (April 30) as fans listened to her cut, "Big Paper."

Khaled announced Cardi's addition to the record with an updated tracklist Thursday night (April 29). "CARDI B VOCALS IS IN!! ALBUM 101% DONE!!!" he wrote on Instagram.

"You know I like to sound really good because one thing I've been really insecure about is my accent. I have a really big accent and my pronunciation and everything… So I was making sure that everything was mixed right," she continued. "Literally, I think Khaled got the song today [April 29] at like 7 a.m. my time, so he probably got it at like 10 a.m. He got it today. And he got it mastered and everything."

On Twitter, some listeners were skeptical that Cardi really wrote and recorded the verse in 48 hours. However, she defended the claim with receipts.

"The day Khaled did his video we sent him the hook and one verse so he [could] know I was working on it and not frontin. This is my [message] from last night my engineer sending me different mixes in the middle of the night since we had to turn it in at 7 a.m. Thursday morning," she tweeted along with the text.

Cardi also told fans that Tyga was recording a song in another room at the studio while she was there.

"... Tyga was in the other room and he came to show me some dope songs and I told him I was tired trying to finish a song for Khaled and he said wow don't it come out on Thursday?" she wrote .

As further proof, Cardi also shared a video she took critiquing the track's initial mix on Wednesday (April 28).

"... I was letting my fans know why I got on the album soo late & unexpected wit no video & almost didn't make it cause the beat was [sent] Tuesday night," she added , replying to a Twitter user. "I can't even tell my personal story without ya makin everything so catty."

Cardi B Brags About 5 Hot 100 No. 1s in 'Big Paper' | Billboard

Cardi B  got "Five number ones, you got five number nones," she raps in her "Big Paper" collaboration with DJ Khaled on his latest album  Khaled Khaled , which is out Friday (April 30).

Billboard  has provided a breakdown of how each of her "five number ones" have made history on the Hot 100 and crowned Cardi with many "first" titles below.

Her major-label debut single under Atlantic Records and lead single from her Grammy-winning debut album  Invasion of Privacy  moved to No. 1 on the Hot 100 on the Oct. 7, 2017-dated chart, and it remained there for three consecutive weeks. "Bodak Yellow" made Cardi B (real name Belcalis Almanzar) the first  female rapper to top the all-genre tally without the assistance of any other credited artists in nearly 19 years, since Ms. Lauryn Hill's first solo Hot 100 entry (apart from the  Fugees ) "Doo Wop (That Thing)" spent two weeks at the top beginning with its Nov. 14, 1998, debut at No. 1.

Latin music luminaries Bad Bunny and J Balvin earned their first Hot 100 No. 1s with "I Like It" on the July 7, 2018-dated chart, but the summery bilingual trap collab earned the New York native  many more "first" titles : Cardi became the first female rapper with two No. 1s following "Bodak Yellow." She passed four female rappers who previously topped the tally with one No. 1 apiece: Ms. Hill, with "Doo Wop (That Thing)," for two weeks in 1998; Lil' Kim, with "Lady Marmalade," with Christina Aguilera, Mya and P!nk (five weeks, 2001); Shawnna, as featured on Ludacris' "Stand Up" (one, 2003); and, Iggy Azalea, with "Fancy," featuring Charli XCX (seven, 2014).

With both "I Like It" and "Bodak Yellow" being featured on her album Invasion of Privacy , Cardi is also the first artist to notch a pair of Hot 100 No. 1s from a debut album, since Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, whose  The Heist  yielded "Thrift Shop," featuring Wanz (six weeks at No. 1), and "Can't Hold Us," featuring Ray Dalton (five), both in 2013. She's also the first   soloist  with a pair Hot 100 leaders from a debut LP since Bruno Mars, whose  Doo-Wops & Hooligans  produced "Just the Way You Are" (four weeks at No. 1, 2010) and "Grenade" (four, 2011) and the first   female soloist  with two Hot 100 No. 1s from a debut album this decade, and the first since Lady Gaga, whose  The Fame  generated "Just Dance," featuring Colby O'Donis (three weeks on top), and "Poker Face" (one), both in 2009.

She and Maroon 5 made Hot 100 chart history together with their collaboration "Girls Like You," which spent seven weeks at No. 1, beginning its reign on the Sept. 29, 2018-dated chart. The song also spent a whopping  40 weeks in the top 20  region of the all-genre tally.

Cardi and Meg  took "WAP" to the top  on the Aug. 22, 2020-dated chart, both rappers drew in a record 93 million U.S. streams, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, the most for any track ever in its first week of release. It surpassed the haul of 85.3 million for Ariana Grande's "7 Rings" in its first week of availability (Feb. 2, 2019). Plus, Cardi and Meg earned the ninth Hot 100 No. 1 song credited to two or more women (and no other billed acts), and the fourth in 2020.

Last, but not least, Cardi scored her  fifth Hot 100 No. 1  on the March 27, 2021-dated chart following her  performance of "Up"  as part of a medley with Megan Thee Stallion at the 2021 Grammy Awards. She extended her record for the most Hot 100 No. 1s among female rappers. With "Up" being her first Hot 100 No. 1 with no accompanying acts since "Bodak Yellow," Cardi is the first female rapper with two Hot 100 No. 1s with no other billed artists.

Cardi B Is White Hot in a Corset, Hermes Bag and Margiela Tabi Boots – Footwear News

Talk about white hot! With the weather warming up, Cardi B is giving a whole new twist on the staple spring-and-summer neutral, matching her now-signature Hermès bags with a shoe style that is fast becoming one of her favorites. Leave it to Cardi B to make simple, seasonal white look suddenly edgy.

With her a new hair hue in va va voom waves, colored in a way that’s reminiscent of a tropical summer sunset to the white split-toe boots, nothing about her look is expected, literally from head to toe. The “WAP” rapper proved once again she knows how to mix a range of elements for a one-of-a-kind outfit. Who else could layer a Care Bears print snap-closure button down (hello, ’80s kids!) over a sultry white corset, pair it with distressed denim, and then accessorize with oversized gold hoop earrings and white camel-toe boots. And let’s not forget the white Hermés bag resting on the piano behind her, just one of many of the highly-prized carriers from the French luxury brand that the rapper has acquired over the past few years.

Cardi B and Reebok Release New Sneaker Colorways & Apparel Just in Time for Summer

Cardi B is no stranger to bustiers and corsets, and to keep the structured top decidedly fresh, pairing it with distressed jeans is a clever way to ground the look. The New York City native, who was named the 2020 FNAA Style Influencer of the Year , has aced mastering a range of looks, from high luxury to street style.

Pulling off a camel-toe on purpose—especially on your feet—is no easy fashion feat, as Cardi B does here, leading the herd. The iconic shoes, which Maison Margiela pioneered years ago (taking inspiration from split-toe socks that originated in Japan, called “tabi,”) and has been making variations of for several seasons actually has a connection to the rapper:  Both have a partnership with Reebok. The athletic brand is now making versions of Margiela’s classic Tabi boot in sneaker form, with its most recent style debuting earlier this week.

To copy Cardi B’s quirky split-toe boots, you can nab a pair of Maison Margiela boots for yourself. But if you’re not a fan of camel-toes of any sort, a cute pair of white booties is close enough.

Following in the footsteps of fellow musicians such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, and more, Cardi B has just filed a trademark for what sounds like an upcoming beauty brand. So when will Cardi B's beauty line be out in the UK , and what else do we know so far?

She continued: "I think is time for people to educate themselves on nationality, race and ethnicity. Being Hispanic/Latina don't make your hair long, don't make your skin light or don't make your face features slim specially Latin countries from the Caribbean islands. Dna have something to do with your hair not your nationality but guess what you can always maintain your hair ...and one more things not everyone that speaks Spanish is Mexican."

Cardi B Files Trademark For 'Bardi Beauty' After Hinting That She Wants to Launch Her

Cardi B doesn’t stop hustling. Recently, the Bronx-born rapper filed legal documents to trademark the phrase “Bardi Beauty”. That means that Cardi B is thinking of getting into the makeup and beauty game.

Cardi B is aiming to start her own beauty brand named 'Bardi Beauty', @TMZ reports.

The brand would include products like cosmetics, fragrances, haircare, skincare, nail polish, and more. pic.twitter.com/w6VpqsKoRs

So, in essence, Cardi B is planning a full takeover of the beauty industry. And we can’t wait! Cardi B’s past red carpet and photoshoot looks have practically broken the internet with their creativity and innovation.

I'm so curious about the Bardi Beauty omg like what's gonna be first, makeup, skincare, haircare aghhh❤️❤️💞💞💞

"Being Hispanic/Latina don't make your hair long, don't make your skin light, or don't make your face features slim, [e]specially Latin countries from the Caribbean islands," she further explained on Twitter. "DNA [has] something to do with your hair, not your nationality.

“Bardi Beauty” would be one of many business spin-offs that Cardi would commit her time to. It was only a matter of time before she went the beauty route with Bardi Beauty.

Fellow music jefas Rihanna and Selena Gomez have created lucrative beauty brands like Fenty Beauty and Rare Beauty to great fanfare. In fact, creating a beauty brand to go along with her music brand seems like a natural thing for Cardi B to do.

Let’s hope that Bardi Beauty will take the Fenty Beauty route and create products for people of different races, ethnicities, and skin colors.
