Everything You Need to Know About Selena Gomez's Skincare Routine | Shop Selena Gomez's

To wash away the day, Gomez uses a soothing foam face cleanser. "It actually helps because I have dry skin," she told Vogue . "But in certain areas, I have oily, which is really annoying." A cleanser like SkinCeuticals Soothing Cleanser Foam has calming ingredients like cucumber extract, glycerin, orchis mascula extract formulated for sensitive skin.

To hydrate and plump up the skin, Gomez loves Tatcha's Dewy Skin Cream. "It's so thick and yummy that you don't actually have to use that much of it," Gomez told Vogue . "I think when I was younger, I didn't really take care of my skin, because I didn't really know why. I was working since I was seven and had makeup on and figuring all that out. So I would say I didn't care until the last few years and I realized how important it was." To apply, Gomez uses her hands to massage the product in an upwards motion.

Gomez never leaves the house without wearing a protective shield of SPF. "I like to put sunscreen on because not only is it important to keep your skin looking fresh but I have lupus, so being in the sun is difficult for me, so I like to put my sunscreen on," she told Vogue . Her go-to is Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense SPF 30, which is sheer, lightweight, and fragrance-free.

Review: Selena Gomez 'Revelación' and Nick Jonas 'Spaceman'

But just like the Phil Collins catalog, Spaceman runs a little too wan and quiet between the hits. These songs all flow together, zooming from track to track as if the radio station were being changed between them, but there are stretches that are more fit for sleep playlists than as a soundtrack to waking activities. There's a fine line between music that's calming and music that is literally sedative; Spaceman delivers a bit too much "Long Long Way to Go" when more "Sussudio" was needed. But that's fine because in this era of sustained, multilateral celebrity, a miss is an opportunity to recalibrate and return. If Spaceman doesn't sell well, there are TV shows, movies, and the old group to fall back on. There are endless opportunities to tear up the playbook and start all over again.

Cardi B Gave Selena Gomez Some Advice on Music Retirement | Teen Vogue

Cardi B has revealed herself to be a bona-fide Selena Gomez stan, suggesting she not retire from music anytime soon.

Well, as expected, Selena stans were not quite happy with the idea that their fave might be bowing out of the music scene eventually — and neither was Cardi B, who quickly tweeted, "I don't think Selena should retire. She makes good music & her fans love her. I think she needs one more Era. A edgy one that no one ever seen her as. I would love to give her some ideas."

Could Cardi's advice be the key? Does Selena just need her own Reputation -type album to welcome fans into a new, edgier side of herself?

Selena has yet to respond to Cardi's advice, but we'll be excited to see what's to come, and whether or not an edgy album is on the way.

Here's what's been happening:

Selena Gomez's Cooking Show Is My Best Pandemic Parenting Secret | Glamour

"Do you want to watch Elmo?" I ask my two-year-old son, hopeful that the fine folks at Sesame Street will give me a moment of reprieve.

Low on options and desperate for some form of entertainment for him that doesn't require me to buck work responsibilities, ignore looming deadlines, or spend 100% of my time on the floor with him, I start to panic. That's when he cries "Eena! Eena!" and points to the HBO Max app on the television screen.

Selena + Chef —a quarantine cooking show in which Selena Gomez is paired with a professional chef who teaches her to cook elaborate recipes from the safety and comfort of their respective homes—first aired on August 13, 2020. "When the pandemic happened, I pretty much was terrified, and then as time went by, I wanted to do something fun and I love cooking," Gomez told singer and chef Kelis Rogers during episode five of season two.

As a TV cooking show aficionado— Top Chef , Hell's Kitchen , and The Great British Baking Show are my favorites—I was hardly surprised by how much I enjoyed Selena + Chef . What caught me off guard, however, was how the show also completely captured the attention of my toddler.

I'm not the only mom reaping the benefits of Selena + Chef 's low-key popularity among the country's toddlers. "My daughter absolutely loves Selena + Chef and was completely sucked in from the first episode," Katie Jones, 38, says of her five-year-old. "She has talked nonstop about how she cannot wait to open up her restaurant when she gets older." Jones says her daughter's favorite part of the show is Gomez's colorful knives and bowls, as well as Gomez herself, who she thinks is "really funny and pretty." But it's what her daughter's enthusiasm for the show has given Jones that has been the most meaningful.

"I have been off of work for the past month for surgery," she says. "I unfortunately contracted COVID after it and have been down for the count with double-lung pneumonia. [The show] has provided great relief—to be able to have her turn it on while I relax and catch some much-needed [sleep]."

"For older kids, it's also great because they can actually learn cooking tips," Caraballo adds. "Most importantly, they can learn growth-mindset attitudes, as in, they believe they can learn, take risks, try things even if they don't know how to do them, and enjoy, laugh, and have fun during the process."

As the pandemic continues and parents, predominately Black and brown working moms, are overworked, undersupported, and overwhelmed arguably more than ever before, what we do to find a moment of solace—or even just an opportunity to cross something off our never-ending to-do list—has evolved. In a world of wrenching unknowns and uncertainty, it's nice to have a few new tools in my parenting tool kit. When Elmo and Dora fail, thank God I have Selena Gomez.

RIP to the revolutionary fashion plan that allowed us to rent designer clothes and swap them out as often as we wanted.

'Revelación' Illuminates Selena Gomez's Mexican Heritage

After years of dealing with insecurity and ridicule for her heritage, the singer is embracing her roots with her new Spanish-language EP.

Anyone who is a fan of Gomez should listen to " Revelación ." It shows a more intimate side of the singer as she faces insecurities in singing a language she wasn't always fluent in.

With the release of " Revelación " on all streaming platforms, Gomez has finally been able to show appreciation to her Latin community and fans. "This has been something I've wanted to do for 10 years, working on a Spanish project, because I'm so, so proud of my heritage, and just genuinely felt like I wanted this to happen. And it happened, and I feel like it's the perfect timing. Just with all the division in the world, there's something about Latin music that globally just makes people feel things," Gomez said in an interview with Apple Music .

Gomez continued in the behind-the-scenes of her EP photoshoot , "I never really get to touch on [my Latina] side. I'm really excited and am looking forward to just giving a gift to myself, Americans and Spanish-speaking fans. I've always wanted to do that. I just think I have a really special connection with [them]. And it's my last name. It's a huge part of who I am. And I don't forget that."

Popular Mexican historical figures like Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera also inspired Gomez's look for the EP. For instance, in the official cover arts, Gomez wears flower accessories. Her makeup is simple yet strong, created by her own Rare Beauty line .

Some of the other looks Young styled were custom-made for Gomez's official cover art. For example, she helped style a strapless red bodice that cascades down to a flowing silk train in front of a red Spanish background. Gomez's long hair is braided through with a matching scarlet ribbon, and her waist is adorned with peplum-like balloons that tie the outfit together.

"[Gomez's makeup] hues also complement the floral headpiece and ribbons featured in the promotional images, produced by a mainly Latinx team with hairstylist Orlando Pita , photographer Camila Falquez , and set designer Gerard Santos ," said Thatiana Diaz at Refinery29 .

In the next cover album option, Gomez's gigantic circular black hat is from Harris Reed. The hat accentuates Gomez's face as if she were light coming from a still image. The scene is mesmerizing — Gomez's lips and the flowers on her head pop, leaving their vivid colors to dominate the dark surroundings.

Gomez continues to incorporate Latin culture in different ways throughout her music videos. In the music video for " De Una Vez ," the enchanting imagery pays homage to Latin America's magical realism, and the lyrics resonate with not only her Latin fans but with fans all over the world.
