M&S praised for inclusive lingerie photo of model with 'beautiful body'

Big brands' choice of lingerie models have often been criticised for only representing one particular body type, with the lack of diversity in the models' physiques not always making customers feel represented.

But M&S has won some serious applause thanks to the inclusion of a stunning model in a lingerie image shared to the high street retailer's Instagram page.

The post features blogger, and M&S influencer, Sophie Edwards, looking awesome, yet lounge-at-home comfy in a red, floral lingerie set, with a blue and white striped shirt casually thrown over the top.

"Bank holiday Monday plans? Lounging around the house in our stylish yet oh-so-comfy bralette set," the accompanying caption reads.

And fans were impressed with the choice of model, flocking to the comments section to show their appreciation for the image and underwear.

"This model has a beautiful body and makes me feel I am not ashamed of mine any more. Well done M&S," one fan wrote.

"Well done M&S, finally a beautiful model and lingerie that's comfy and as it should be," another agreed.

"Love the model," yet another user commented. "At last I feel there's lingerie out there I'll feel comfortable and sexy in. Thank you M&S".

In response to the positive feedback on the Instagram post an M&S spokesperson told Yahoo UK: "At M&S we are proud to work with a diverse pool of talent across our entire business, from our talented model roster to the social content creators we collaborate with.

Kurt Cobain Rips Through 'Dive' in Lingerie at 1993 Nirvana Show - Rolling Stone

Decades before Harry Styles angered conservatives by wearing a dress on the cover of Vogue , Kurt Cobain regularly dipped his toes in gender fluidity — donning dresses and makeup onstage, in photo shoots, or just hanging at friend’s houses. One memorable moment is when the late Nirvana frontman performed an encore in a lace slip and tiara, at Rio de Janeiro’s Hollywood Rock festival on January 23rd, 1993.

Following the chaos of São Paulo, the Rio show on January 23rd was seen as a chance for redemption, and they capped off the set with a lengthy “ Scentless Apprentice. ” In the video above, Cobain returns for the encore as Dave Grohl — wearing a bra and a backwards cap — and Krist Novoselic jam on Aerosmith’s “Sweet Emotion.” Cobain wades through the opening chords of “Dive,” an early gem that was released off the compilation Incesticide a month earlier.

Charlotte Flair Surprises WWE Universe Posing In Lingerie Outfit

With no role provided by WWE for the Biggest Event of the year, Charlotte Flair is taking the social media route to stay relevant in the scene. Like the other sizzlers from the women's roster, the benchmark performer of the women's division has recently been posting some hot photos of her to garner the attention of the fans.

A couple of days ago, she posted a few revealing photos on the occasion of her birthday. Now she has followed up with some more which appeared to be some sort of promotional deal. WWE sent down a ban on Superstars making deals on their own.

Superstars were previously allowed to get some third-party endorsement deals on social media, with the likes of Lana and Mandy Rose making a lot of cash. Nowadays, that it's completely banned as WWE holds the right to own their names and gimmicks. We wonder whether Charlotte Flair is excluded from that edict or not.

As seen on Twitter and Instagram, The Queen posted a photo of her in Calvin Klein underwear. Since photos for promotional of brands like this are banned, Charlotte Flair did end up surprising a lot of fans. Additionally, she dropped a caption that also named the company,

It should be noted that WWE has also banned Superstars from doing Cameo videos unless the company gets all share in profits and then hands out a portion to the concerned Superstars out of their own downside guarantees. Cameo and WWE also announced a new partnership for WrestleMania 37 week.

Speaking of the Show of Shows, Charlotte Flair was removed from the poster, last month which raised speculations of her absence. Later, Andrade clarified that WWE doctors thought her to be pregnant and thus she was removed from the poster which was a clear misconception.

According to PW Insider , WWE made the call to removed Charlotte Flair from the WrestleMania graphic out of precautionary reasons. She also tested positive for COVID-19 and the company was doubtful whether she will make it back in time for the event.

"WWE removed Flair from WrestleMania advertising out of caution in case she would not be cleared in time to return to storylines. As we had previously reported, the Andrade-WWE release situation had no bearing on Flair not being on Raw."

Khloe Kardashian shares video in lingerie to show 'real self', addresses leaked bikini

American reality TV star Khloe Kardashian on Wednesday spoke out after an unauthorised bikini photo of her surfaced over the weekend. The picture caused many social media users to comment, critique and bully her appearance.

According to TMZ, the 36-year-old star took to Instagram to post an untouched, unedited video from her bathroom and showed fans her unfiltered appearance.

She also included a lengthy statement along with the post. Khloe said, "When someone takes a photo of you that isn't flattering in bad lighting or doesn't capture your body the way it is after working so hard to get it to this point ... you should have every right to ask for it to not be shared - regardless of who you are."

As per TMZ, the photo that showed Khloe poolside in a bikini without any substantial photo edits or airbrushing - was quickly pulled by Khloe's team, and publications were asked to take it down.

In closing, Khloe said that while her family has been a tremendous foundation of support and positivity, "You never quite get used to being judged and pulled apart and told how unattractive one is, but I will say, if you hear anything enough then you start to believe it."

Paulina Porizkova reacts to criticism for posing in lingerie in her 50s: 'I still think I

The Czech-born Swedish supermodel , who is 55, often speaks her truth on social media despite input from critics. Aside from her occasional bikini pics, the model has been open about dealing with heartbreak following the passing of her former husband, Cars frontman Ric Ocasek .

The supermodel, who shot for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit for the first time in 1983, appeared on "The Tamron Hall Show" on Friday where she discussed the topic of aging . A sneak peek clip shared by People  shows the 55-year-old stunner bravely admitting she doesn't let the critics bring down her confidence.

"In my 20s, I was celebrated for showing up in lingerie. I was getting a lot of money for it and everybody loved me," Porizkova tells Hall in the clip. "In my 50s, I still think I look pretty good in lingerie, but the reaction is reviled, obviously not by everybody, but yeah, there's a fair amount of backlash."

Porizkova added that the public's general consensus is that women nearing middle age shouldn't expose skin.

"I think it's that when you get older when there's a certain sort of invisible boundary that happens in maybe your mid 40s where you, I guess you don't look fertile anymore, it's a menopausal thing," she continued.

"And maybe it's because you're starting to look a little like people's mom, that sexy is not allowed. You're allowed to be beautiful, you're allowed to be handsome, you're allowed to be present, you're allowed to be shocking or eye opening, but you are not allowed to be sexy," Porizkova added.

Last month, Porizkova revealed she underwent a cosmetic procedure and showed her followers the results on Instagram. She said she had a plasma pen treatment which is a non-invasive procedure that helps keep the skin firmer and wrinkle-free.

The Sports Illustrated magazine cover star admitted she got the treatment done because "I'm vain and want to be pretty."

In addition to showing off her fit frame at the age of 55 on social media, Porizkova has also been celebrated for sharing fresh-faced, makeup-free selfies.

Lingerie brand Berlei slammed for cultural appropriation by customers, Bobbi Lockyer, Clementine

Australian women's lingerie brand Berlei has apologised after being slammed for cultural appropriation.

But the winning entry has caused controversy after it was revealed the Indigenous design was created by non-Indigenous artist Nicole Onslow.

The art work, which featured sacred Aboriginal symbolism, has sparked a wave of backlash from customers, Indigenous artists and social commentators.

In a statement published on their official Instagram overnight, the Berlei team said the mistake was made because the entries were judged virtually and "as such indigenous elements of this particular entry were overlooked".

Australian author and outspoken feminist Clementine Ford posted about the issue to her 163,000 followers.

The social commentator re-published WA Indigenous artist Bobbi Lockyer's submission — saying she knew at least two Aboriginal women who submitted designs.

"I am sure there were many more. If Berlei wanted to feature Aboriginal art, why didn't they choose an Aboriginal artist," she asked.

"I think Berlei definitely should have found out if the artist was indigenous as soon as they chose this piece, because it was clearly showing our iconic symbols and storytelling," she said.

Yarli Creative — the Instagram account for artist Madison Connors who submitted a design for the competition — also commented on the issue.

Blonde boxing bombshell reacts to lingerie sneer from opponent

Ahead of this weekend’s notable fight for women’s boxing, Australian Ebanie Bridges has been vocal.

She has responded to opponent Shannon Courtenay’s remarks regarding her weigh-in outfits specifically:

“To say all the hard work that (Irish world champion) Katie Taylor has put in to get the sport where it is. You think I am not grinding behind closed doors? You know what, I really hope that she thinks I am not training and that I am going around lingerie shopping and all that. She is going to get a rude ******* shock and she is going to see exactly what it is like to get hit by a lingerie model, which is apparently what I am.”

While not a lot of big fights this weekend in America this weekend, Joe Smith Jr. also returns to action.

Internationally, Conor Benn vs Samuel Vargas takes place and in the USA Jaron Ennis vs Sergey Lipinets also solid fights this weekend.

Maren Morris Poses in Lingerie to Speak Out About Pressure on New Moms | Health.com

Maren Morris welcomed her son Hayes a little more than a year ago, and she just dropped a very important message about postpartum body confidence . Namely, she has no desire to talk about getting her body "back."

"Am never saying 'trying to get my body back' again," the country singer captioned photos of herself wearing lingerie in bed, and working out with a Bosu ball in what appears to be her kitchen.

People were all about it in the comments. "4 kids here 🙋🏼‍♀️ and I've never been more proud of my body! It has created and nurtured four human beings!" one person wrote. "As a mother of a soon to be 1 year old, I needed this. 🙌🏽 we mothers are amazing," another said.

Morris didn't say what prompted the post, but it was definitely implied that she heard not-so-positive comments about her body.

Morris told CBS This Morning in September that she battled postpartum depression after having her son. "I'm kind of coming through the tunnel now. I feel back to normal," she said at the time, noting that she did therapy over the phone during the pandemic after she felt like she was "drowing."

"You're trying to become a new mother and good parent and do everything right," she said, "and you just feel like you suck at every level." Morris said not being able to tour was also frustrating, since music is "the one thing I've always felt like I have a handle on." She added, "to not be able to tour and have to furlough my band and crew, it was just a lot."

Morris said therapy helped, and she told ET in March that having a baby has brought her closer to her husband, Ryan Hurd. "It's definitely changed us for the better," she said. "I think that it just makes you even more insightful and thoughtful about someone else's existence outside of your selfish own needs. I think that it's just brought us closer, and we just love that little guy so much."
