Katy Perry Says She 'Quit Shaving' Her Legs Since Becoming New Mom | PEOPLE.com

Katy Perry has a lot on her to-do list these days — but shaving her legs isn't one of them!

During Sunday's All-Star duet episode of American Idol,  Perry, 36, said her mommy-duties have taken over her daily routine while commenting on contestant Cassandra Coleman's stellar performance.

"Your voice is a spiritual experience," the Idol judge told Coleman of her performance with singer Ryan Tedder. "It is other worldly, angelic. As a new mother I don't have very much time so I've quit shaving my legs. But when you sang, the hair on my legs grew an inch an a half. Full body chills! It was amazing."

To prove her point, Perry raised her legs up on her judge's table so the camera could take a peek — and fellow judge Luke Bryan confirmed.

In February, Bryan opened up about how Perry's been navigating being a working mom on the set of the ABC competition show.

"It's just really amazing being there with Katy and watching her [be a mom]," Bryan, 44, said of his fellow judge, who welcomed her daughter  Daisy Dove  with fiancé  Orlando Bloom  in late August. "Sometimes in the breaks, she'll FaceTim Orlando and little Daisy Dove. And so, I'll get to say, 'Hey.' But just watching Katy embrace being a mother is a very beautiful thing to watch. I never had a doubt she would be a tremendous mother."

"She'd come on set; she would've been up nursing all night," he added of the breastfeeding mom. "Katy's in the full swing of things with nursing, so we've had to work around her schedule. But she's been a trouper and showing up and working like she always does. I know she's doing it on minimal sleep, so she's a rockstar."

In late September, Perry shared a series of tweets about her experience of getting back work while raising her baby girl. "Popular misconception: being a mom isn't a full-time job," she tweeted.

'American Idol': Katy Perry's 'hairy legs' made an appearance after Cassandra

Cassandra Coleman was the second to perform in the Top 24 rounds and collaborated with Ryan Tedder on 'Too Late' giving Katy 'full body chills'

Cassandra received the honor of performing the song once again but this time with Ryan Tedder accompanying her while she did so. Cassandra was excited as well as nervous after discovering that she was partnering with Tedder for her celebrity duet performance. He did ask her about her audition performance to the song but she was quick to request "never google it please."

Cassandra was a superstar even before she came on the show. She has a huge following on the Smule app and her voice has the capability of invoking some of the deeply buried feelings of her listeners. She once again wielded magic on the stage during her duet with Tedder who himself was in his element with his famed big noted and crazy runs.

Cassandra's fascinating performance helped her to receive a lot of appreciation and love from the judges. Lionel Richie said that she was a "dream come true" but at the same time advised her to have a little fun with her performance and not "try to concentrate" so much because it showed on her face and did take away a little from her performance, in his opinion.

'American Idol': Grace Kinstler sings duet with Joss Stone; Katy Perry says 'Midnight Train to

Even singer, songwriter Joss Stone knows she doesn't have to teach Grace Kinstler how to sing — it's about teaching her what to do with her amazing voice.

The Berklee College of Music student sang a duet with Stone on Sunday night's "American Idol." The two sang "Midnight Train to Georgia" by Gladys Knight & the Pips.

Kinstler is known for belting out songs during her performances but Stone suggests she hold back at first to help tell the story.

This week is the first week fans can vote for their favorites. Voting is only allowed during the performances, and fans can vote 10 times.

During Kinstler's Sunday night performance, judge Lionel Richie had to compose himself after the performance, calling her "a winning package."

Kinstler made it to the top 24 of this season of "American Idol." The singer has been wowing judges throughout the season so far. Her audition brought judge Luke Bryan to tears.

"I get brought to tears by stories and backgrounds of what people have been through and their struggles," Bryan said. "But this is the first time in four years that just someone's singing made me cry."

Restaurateur Who Fought Katy Perry Over Convent Lists $40M Estate | PEOPLE.com

Now, the restaurateur who fought with Perry over the Los Feliz property has listed another former convent in the nearby Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. Dana Hollister has put the landmark Paramour Estate on the market for $40 million, listed with Sally Forster Jones of Compass.

Although the asking price is far above any nearby home, the property has a grand history, with the space to match: a 22,000-square-foot mansion with 15 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, sitting on five acres.

The Spanish Mediterranean-style estate was commissioned by socialite and petroleum heiress Daisy Canfield in 1918, and it was completed in 1923 by architect Robert D. Farquhar, who was also responsible for the Olympic Club, Festival Hall at the 1915 Pan Pacific Exposition, and Beverly Hills High School.

During the time she owned it with her husband, silent film star Antonio Moreno, the estate was used as a boarding school for orphaned girls and young women amid the Great Depression.

It was eventually sold to Hollister in 1998 for $2.25 million. She's since restored and converted it into a boutique hotel, frequently renting it out for events and shoots, including the 2004 music video of Britney Spears' "My Prerogative" .

"It was very fortunate that the property was a girls' school and later a convent for so many decades because it was not subject to any dramatic alterations, which would have changed its intrinsic beauty," she told the Los Angeles Times .

Hollister ripped up the carpeting to reveal the floors' original walnut, among many other restoration projects — including, preserving the Prohibition-era secret cabinets in the dining room.

"The bold colors, opulent gilded mirrors, crystal chandeliers, allegorical artwork, taxidermy and silk upholstered settees that decorate the mansion set a feeling of environmental submersion or time travel," she continued. "A visitor can experience what it must have been like to visit the mansion in its glorious prime."

Singer promises slab of Mississippi ribs for Katy Perry; brings her sass, voice to Top 24 in

17-year-old Mississippi singer Hannah Everhart promised ‘American Idol’ judge Katy Perry that she would bring her a slab of ribs from her hometown of Canton the next time she saw the superstar.

Looks like she will have to make good on her promise, now that she has made the Top 24 on the annual television singing competition.

Leaving the stage with a smile on her face after her spot in the show was revealed, Perry asked Everhart if it would be a half-slab or full-slab of ribs.

“Having the judges believe in me the way that they do, and thinking that I was good enough to be in the Top 24 was just a proud moment for me,” Hannah Everhart, of Canton, told WAPT-TV.

She flew to California a few months ago — her first time on a plane — after impressing Idol’s judges on a Zoom audition. She sang “Wayfaring Stranger” and Etta James’s “At Last.”

“The song that we are singing together is country, and that fits me to a T,” Everhart said.
“American Idol” airs Sunday and Monday.
