1'-Ribose cyano substitution allows Remdesivir to effectively inhibit nucleotide addition
COVID-19 has recently caused a global health crisis and an effective interventional therapy is urgently needed. Remdesivir is one effective inhibitor for SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA replication. It supersedes other NTP analogues because it not only terminates the polymerization activity of RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp), but also inhibits the proofreading activity of intrinsic exoribonuclease (ExoN).
A stable immature lattice packages IP6 for HIV capsid maturation | Science Advances
HIV virion assembly begins with the construction of an immature lattice consisting of Gag hexamers. Upon virion release, protease-mediated Gag cleavage leads to a maturation event in which the immature lattice disassembles and the mature capsid assembles. The cellular metabolite inositiol hexakisphosphate (IP 6 ) and maturation inhibitors (MIs) both bind and stabilize immature Gag hexamers, but whereas IP 6 promotes virus maturation, MIs inhibit it.
Why meteorologists are wearing purple on 'Pi Day' | cbs19.tv
Dress for STEM is celebrated on Pi Day which is this Sunday. And we're not talking about the pie you eat at dessert. Pi is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, and it's a time for math enthusiasts to show off how many indefinite digits they know of the constant.
A few female meteorologists took the holiday based on mathematics and applied a new meaning - celebrating the smaller group of women who work in STEM-related fields while encouraging young ladies to follow their dreams.

WandaVision: Every MCU Easter Egg In Episode 9 | Screen Rant
WandaVision episode 9, "The Series Finale," is absolutely packed with MCU Easter eggs and references to Marvel Comics. WandaVision began as a surreal sitcom, a Marvel mystery for fans to try to solve, but it ended as it was always going to - in an explosive, action-packed confrontation in the streets of Westview. The heroes and villains of WandaVision assembled for a fateful confrontation that has the potential to break the world.
Every episode of WandaVision has been full of Easter eggs , whether to the MCU or to comic book lore. Previously they've been subtle, meaning you had to look closely in order to spot them; but WandaVision episode 9 makes them overt, bringing together various plot threads that the show has been carefully weaving for weeks more effectively than a witch would weave a cat's cradle.
Paige Spiranac Blasts 'Space Jam 2' Changes to Lola Bunny's Physique
News surfaced in early March that Lola Bunny, a character introduced in the original Space Jam, was undergoing a massive redesign for the sequel . The goal was to change her from "sexualized" to "strong," but the decision did not sit well with a professional golfer-turned- media personality . Paige Spiranac sounded off about the change and said that director Malcolm D. Lee took away Lola's femininity.
"It’s a cartoon character, like what the f— are we actually talking about here but taking the boobs off Lola Bunny you are saying you can never be seen that way because women who have large breasts, what do we do about that?"
Let's Talk About Wanda Maximoff's New Look
Wanda Maximoff is finally becoming the Scarlet Witch and, in doing so, has adopted a version of the costume that we know so well from the comics. For years in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Wanda’s look was a variation of the comic world but didn’t include the leotard that we do, eventually, see in WandaVision .
It’s for the better. A lot of the time, Wanda’s looks in the comics came from that quintessential idea of a female superhero and their need to be somewhat sexy. What I’ve loved about the MCU Wanda is that her costumes are never aligned with that concept.
