Cleveland Browns and the famed Sports Illustrated cover Jan. 4, 1965 - cleveland.com

On Jan. 4, 1965, Sports Illustrated devoted its cover to the Cleveland Browns' NFL championship that had been played Dec. 27, 1964.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – When the Browns captured the NFL championship on Dec. 27, 1964, the memory of that win – a 27-0 thrashing of the favored Baltimore Colts – remains etched in the consciousness of Cleveland sports fans. It also was immortalized eight days later in print.
