The Capital Region has no shortage of impressive Christmas light displays, and in the case of one in Rotterdam, it features an attraction beyond just lights synced with music that is helping to make a difference for one local organization.

"When we can give people hot chocolate, it's nice to watch them be able to enjoy the light show and have something to sip on," said Brenna MacTurk. "It's just a nice feeling."
Brenna isn't just talking about the kids who come to their hot cocoa stand. For the last three years, they've used the stand to raise money for Maddie's Mark Foundation.

The TikTok videos that are getting all the plays and shares, though, feature their subjects doing the total opposite of what you might imagine as "hot girl shit."
Number two, though, is the awesome "Mood" by 24kGoldn, a not-Christmas song that is actually good. Number three on the charts is a head-scratcher; for some reason, Brenda Lee's, "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" is the third most popular song in the country right now. Although I am Jewish and my husband is not, we still take a page from my people when it comes to celebrating Christmas. I'm not yet sure what movie the four of us will be watching, but I know we'll be eating Chinese food.
Our go-to Chinese restaurant is Great Wall in Florence. We tend to order off the "gourmet" menu, but my little girls just eat plain rice and steamed dumplings. We'll probably order from them for Christmas to support them, but this week I had a sudden hankering for Chinese that I couldn't ignore.

After sitting out last season due to NCAA transfer rules, Cooks is now able to play for the Mississippi State women's basketball team, and the Bulldogs have started the 6-foot-4 redshirt junior forward/center in all four of their games thus far.
Cooks has responded, averaging 11.5 points per game, third-most on the team, and 5.3 rebounds per contest.
In the Bulldogs' 103-76 victory over Troy on Monday night in Starkville, Miss., Cooks put on the best shooting display of her career, draining six 3-pointers on her way to a career-high 26 points. It was a welcome shooting night for Cooks, who shot 8-of-20 over her first three games with Mississippi State before Monday's 10-of-17 performance.
