Japan Nike ad on bullying, racism sparks hot online response | Reuters

TOKYO (Reuters) - A video ad from Nike Japan against bullying and racism that features biracial athletes and other minorities, such as those of Korean descent, has prompted a sharp online response including calls to boycott the company.

Japan has traditionally prided itself on being racially homogeneous, although successful mixed-race athletes such as tennis star Naomi Osaka are challenging that image.

The commercial, "Keep Moving: Yourself, the Future," released on Nov 30, shows several teen girls bullied in school over their race or other differences, but who ultimately find confidence through soccer prowess.

Girls basketball: Sonia Citron busy preparing for a next level jump

There was plenty of idle time after the NYSPHSAA tournament was halted in March by the encroaching pandemic. And with the state's first COVID-19 hot spot no more than a wind sprint away in New Rochelle, there were few objections.

* * *

"We really couldn't do anything for a while there," the reigning Gatorade New York Girls Basketball Player of the Year said. "The end of the high school season was like the beginning of COVID-19 here, so everyone was kind of wondering and waiting to see what might happen. School went online and I quarantined for a while. I wasn't leaving the house and it was like that for a couple of months because it was really bad here. I was scared. I didn't want to get the coronavirus.

Cartersville girls fall to hot-shooting Sonoraville | The Daily Tribune News

The Sonoraville girls basketball team scored as many points from beyond the 3-point line as Cartersville scored in the entirety of the non-region matchup Tuesday at The Storm Center. With three-plus …

With three-plus buckets from deep in each of the opening three quarters, the Phoenix cruised to a 70-33 win. Abby Chambers knocked down five triples herself en route to a game-high 20 points.

"They shot the ball lights out," Canes head coach Cindy Moore said of the visitors. "We knew they had some weapons, but they were shooting it with us in their face. Whatever we threw at them, they had an answer for. That comes with a lot of experience. That's a good basketball team. They've made a lot of deep playoff runs a couple of years in a row.

Girls cross country | Smoky Mountain Times, Bryson City, North Carolina

Host school Hiawassee Dam boasted the fourth-place runner, but Swain's Lily Bjerkness and Lauryn Linton came in at fifth and sixth respectively, with times of 25:15.96 and 26:50.95. Swain finished first as a team in the event, followed by Hiawassee Dam in second and Highlands in third.

"I'm excited that she is going to be the backup fifth runner, and she might eventually head into our top five." Chatham said of Linton. "We need seven to have a full team, just in case something happens to someone in the top five. We rely on the sixth runner to break a tie, if needed, and then a seventh person for backup. So, to have a strong top seven is really the ultimate goal of a good team."

Radical Front-Mid-Engine Pontiac Trans-Am Wins This Year's Hot Wheels Legends Tour

The Hot Wheels Legends Tour is a worldwide contest to get your project car immortalized as a 1/64th miniature. First ran before the pandemic in 2019, the event's national tour attracted more than 100,000 attendees, and more than 5,000 entries were narrowed down to just 18 finalists. After several regional contests, the final for this year's competition was hosted by Jay Leno and held at his massive garage, featuring some unique rides, to say the least.

Hot Wheels being Hot wheels, the winner had to be visually stunning and unique, but the eventual winner—who according to Leno was actually everybody's second choice—is of great mechanical interest as well. The Drive spoke with most car-obsessed celeb about the competition, asking a few questions about what he liked about the winning 1970 Pontiac Trans Am, and why they picked it in the first place.

The Flight Attendant Recap: All Cassie's Terrible Decisions

Don't act all suspicious after poorly cleaning up a crime scene in your hotel room!
As soon as Cassie does flee the scene of the crime, she starts acting erratically, wrapping a scarf around her (which confuses her friend Rosie Perez), insisting that it's weird that their flight is delayed (it's not, according to Rosie Perez), and accidentally serving vodka to an air marshal who only asked for soda (a crime, says Rosie Perez).

Don't try to run away from your interview with the FBI!
Once Cassie lands back in the U.S., she gets called into an interview with the FBI because they have, of course, found the hot guy's body and, of course, are interviewing the flight attendants on the hot guy's plane. Cassie tries to duck out of this interview by just walking out of the airport pretending she does not hear the announcer repeatedly saying her name.
