The French military has been given the green light to begin research on developing "enhanced soldiers". An ethics committee has been put in place to set strict boundaries on this controversial field. It said in a report that other nations were exploring such possibilities and that France must keep up. We take a look at some of the French army's futuristic projects.

Again, it's something that we've seen bits of research on, but they tend to focus on things like: do brain training games work or not? And again, the evidence there has been pretty much that they they don't. But looking really at how people play video games, that's another one. Actually, we still don't really have a good handle on why people play them.

Cyberpunk 2077 Developer Apologizes and Offers Refund for Game Glitches - The New York Times
The maker behind Cyberpunk 2077, one of the year's most highly anticipated video games, on Monday apologized and offered refunds to players who were disappointed in the game's performance, after days of complaints over glitches and poor visuals on some platforms following its release last week.
CD Projekt Red, the Warsaw-based developer, said in a statement signed by a founder, Marcin Iwinski, and others that it was sorry for not showing the game running on base models of last-generation consoles before it was released last week, eliminating the opportunity for gamers to make informed decisions about purchasing.

EA to buy racing game developer Codemasters for $1.2 billion
LONDON — Electronic Arts reached an agreement on Monday to buy U.K. racing game developer Codemasters in a deal worth $1.2 billion.
The deal upstaged a previous transaction agreed between rival publisher Take-Two Interactive and Codemasters. The firm had agreed to acquire Codemasters for £726 million ($971 million) only last month.
"The Codemasters Board has considered various aspects of the EA Offer and considers the EA Offer to represent a superior offer for Codemasters' shareholders as compared with the Take-Two Offer," the British firm said in a release.
