S o I started Doom Eternal the other day. I know I'm six months late, but I was otherwise disposed – aka, running a turnip racket in Animal Crossing: New Horizons – when it first came out. To be completely honest with you, I completely forgot about its very existence, which is strange because I loved the 2016 reboot when it first came out. Then, over the weekend, I noticed it was on Game Pass and jumped right on in.
First off, before we start, I'm going to be real honest with you: I found Doom Eternal to be a pretty disappointing experience. There was a moment, a few hours in, where I genuinely thought that if I saw one more platform that I had to double jump and dash to – inevitably tumbling to a lava-y demise – I might smash up my console with a hammer. Sometimes the game's difficulty curve can be attributed to poor game design, but often it's just the perversity of the challenges put before you.
And here's another article:
GM Will Use Graphics Engine Designed for Video Games for the Hummer EV's Infotainment System
We've all complained about how some automotive infotainment screens still look like they're straight out of Windows 3.1, but now General Motors is looking to the world of video games to create better in-car graphics.
The GMC Hummer EV's infotainment system will run Epic Games' Unreal Engine for its user interface, Motor1 reports. Unreal Engine is the graphics framework that underpins everything from Unreal Tournament to Assetto Corsa Competizione to Street Fighter V . This won't be its first foray into the automotive space, either, as Motor1 notes that it's already in use by a lot of online car configurators.
Superhero video games you need to play before you die
Whether it involves soaring through the skies, pummeling villains deep into the ground, running at supersonic speeds, or shooting lasers, playing as a comic book hero can be a lot of fun. That's because most of these heroes are, well, super. They typically have awesome powers, and awesome powers translate well into video games moves and skill sets. Sure, horrible games do exist in the superhero genre , but the bad superhero games are far more rare than the good ones.
To make it more fair for all the superheroes involved, this list only includes one installment of a particular series, even if the entire collection is gold. Conversely, a few games that aren't top-tier are included as well, but only if the starring superhero doesn't show up in many video games.

Xbox boss thinks 8K might never be the standard in video games | VGC
"I think 8K is aspirational technology," he said. "The display capabilities of devices are not really there yet. I think we're years away from 8K being—if it ever is—standard in video games."
Liz Hamren, head of gaming engineering at Xbox, also suggested to Wired that not as many people have 4K TVs as AAA publishers might believe.
When Wired put it to Spencer that ray tracing has failed to deliver on its promise so far, he agreed that was "probably right."

Amazon Wants to 'Win at Games.' So Why Hasn't It? | WIRED
On the upper decks, sailors stood taut as the camera ogled the vessel's 76mm cannon. Then a pair of emcees from Amazon Game Studios, occasionally shouting over the thrum of passing helicopters, introduced the competitors. They were down below, huddled around high-end monitors—headsets on, knees jiggling anxiously, cans of Red Bull cracked open.
On paper, Breakaway was a delicious amalgamation of features from two of the most popular contemporary games, Rocket League and League of Legends . Players would gather in mythical arenas like El Dorado and Atlantis, competing to dunk a ball in the opposing team's goal. To succeed, they would need galaxy-brain strategy, impeccable spatial reasoning, and split-second reactions.
Sega's next retro console could be Dreamcast mini, says producer | VGC
"For the next Mini, we are considering everything that has been imagined by everyone," he said. "Of course, it doesn't mean we can realize all of them. We are also thinking about projects that nobody has imagined.
"The Game Gear Micro is only sold domestically in Japan. When we do the next one, I feel like the project scope will be much bigger as we gaze upon the world," he added.
Okunair said the next mini console would likely take more time to bring to market than the Game Gear Micro, "so we won't be able to release it at this time the next year or two years after the Mega Drive Mini. We can't make it that quickly,” he said.
