HANOVER — Police say earlier this month they rescued two young children from a locked vehicle as outside temperatures were above 90 degrees.
Sgt. Anthony Vitanza, Officer Michael Byrnes and Officer Daniel Acquaro responded to a Wegmans at about 6:30 p.m. on July 5, where they found a 6-year-old boy with a developmental disability as well as a 4-year-old girl locked in the car, sweating profusely and crying, police said.
The officers gained access to the car, got the children cold water and helped them cool off in patrol vehicles, police said.

Two albums down the line, Price has progressed impressively, growing more ambitious with the thematic scope of 2017's "All-American Made" and now comfortably working in 1970s rock mode with the bold "That's How Rumors Get Started."
Recorded in Los Angeles in the same studio as the Beach Boys cut "Pet Sounds," "Rumors" was produced by Price's country music iconoclast buddy Sturgill Simpson.
The album doesn't make a show of its subversiveness like Simpson's 2019 metal-edged "Sound & Fury." Instead, it confidently goes its own way, largely leaving steel guitars and all manner of twang behind as Price settles in to make a top-notch rock record with seasoned studio musicians like bassist Pino Palladino and Tom Petty keyboard player Benmont Tench.

NEW JERSEY — The Garden State is now requesting residents traveling from COVID-19 hot spots to New Jersey via airplane fill out an electronic survey, self-isolate and be tested, according to Department of Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli.
"The airlines will make an announcement about the travel advisory on impacted states," Persichilli said at Friday's COVID-19 briefing, noting that there would be a survey at the point of departure and in-flight while en route to New Jersey.
