The US Army has paused streaming video games on Twitch as an outreach and recruitment tool after facing criticism for banning viewers who asked its streamers about US war crimes.
The pause was first reported by esports consultant Rod "Slasher" Breslau who said the Army team was stopping streaming, social activity, and participation in the upcoming Twitch Rivals competition. Breslau said there was "no official time frame for a return" and that Twitch had not cancelled its official partnerships with US Army and Navy esports teams.

RALEIGH, N.C. (July 22, 2020) - Wake Tech's 43 soon-to-be simulation and game development graduates showcased their cool video game development skills during a virtual presentation on YouTube Tuesday night.
For the past nine weeks this summer, nine teams of students worked together to make a finished video game from scratch. The teams ranged in size from one student to 8 students collaborating to design a different video game. Five teams designed an adventure/shooting game; two teams chose fighting-style; and one team picked puzzle game and another designed a simulation game.

Not delivered was any word on when the Xbox Series X would be available, but it expected to land at the outset of the holiday shopping season. That sets up a clash with competitor Sony, which has its PlayStation 5 console arriving at about the same time.

"Children are increasingly being diagnosed with behavioral health disorders and the impact is felt by the entire family," said Matthew Miller, senior vice president, behavioral health, Magellan Healthcare. "We are proud to launch this pilot with Mightier as a cost effective, outcomes-based treatment. By teaching children how to navigate daily challenges through visual technology they learn how to cope and properly manage their stress in a meaningful and fun way."
NHL broadcasts to feature 5-second delay, video game cheering
The NHL will have a five-second delay on broadcasts and artificial crowd noise when it restarts its season in Toronto and Edmonton beginning Aug. 1.
Each arena will have 32 cameras, 12 more than usual. Cameras will be repositioned to capture more of the ice and show new angles. Rather than empty seats behind the benches, the NHL has constructed a rinkwide stage featuring LED screens and banners. Empty seats on the lower bowl of each arena will be covered by a tarp.
