Ask Amy: Hot Girl summer might end in a fall – The Denver Post

Dear Amy: My boyfriend and I (both 23) have been dating for the past nine months. He does not want to get married and have kids later on — while I do. We both knew our stances on marriage and kids from the start, but because I was in the middle of my Hot Girl Summer when we met, I was totally fine with just casually dating.

Honestly, if not for that benefit I wouldn’t care about getting married. A man who is committed to me and our happiness is all I would want.

Officials find body believed to be missing girl in Kan. Amber Alert

(Gray News) - Kansas City Kan. police said Friday they believe a body they discovered was the 3-year-old girl who had gone missing.

A police official told reporters they were "pretty sure" it was the body of Olivia Jansen. They said tips led them to the area where she was found.

"It's horrible. Obviously, nobody wants this to be the end," said police spokesman T.J. Tomasic. "There's no way to describe it."

At 6:30 a.m., the father of Olivia woke up and discovered she was not in the home, officials said. He found the back door of the location was standing open.

Cushman: Hot Times in Atlanta | Columnists | magicvalley.com

The next day, Atlanta police Chief Erika Shields stepped down, and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms fired the two policemen involved. Five days later, District Attorney Paul Howard, who is in a Democratic primary run-off to maintain his position, called a press conference to announce charges against the policemen.

Howard is under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) for receiving $140,000 from a nonprofit that had received the money from the City of Atlanta. Howard is also dealing with three sexual harassment lawsuits. Those details may explain why he neither informed the GBI of the charges nor waited for the GBI to finish its investigation.

3rd Baseball Weekend on track, VHS says

The Third Annual Hot Springs Baseball Weekend is still planned for Aug. 14 and 15, according to Visit Hot Springs CEO Steve Arrison.

Arrison noted that while some venues are hesitant to host large events in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, he felt if proper precautions are taken everything would be fine, and holding such events is part of getting back to normal.

The free and public event, originally scheduled for May 8 and 9, will be held in the Hot Springs Convention Center's Horner Hall, a venue with a 1,500-person capacity for an event Arrison anticipates to have about 300 attendees.
