Video Game Usage Spikes During the Pandemic – NBC 7 San Diego

Molly Davis, a video editor in Atlanta, has been homebound for more than three weeks due to the  coronavirus pandemic . Video games, she says, help pass the time.

"I've been playing for several hours a day, probably five," says Davis, listing Pokémon Sword for the Nintendo Switch and The Sims 4 for the PC as a couple of her go-to picks.

"I've also been playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe online with my friends, and we've been using the Nintendo Switch Online phone app to talk to each other while we play."

Video game fans in their 70s finally meet for the first time after playing together online for a

After forging an unlikely friendship online, a British man finally got to meet his buddy in California for the first time. The two men, both in their 70s, already knew each other well, as they had spent hours online together playing video games.

The meeting was set up by Garry Bowhill-Mann’s granddaughter, Tallulah Self, who surprised her grandfather with the trip, Southwest News Service (SWNS) reports. For the past year, Bowhill-Mann had spent two or three hours per day playing online video games with Mike Nolan, a 70-year-old from California.

Wisconsin video games: Badgers blow out Hawkeyes, retain Heartland Trophy - Bucky's 5th

The No. 2/3 (BCS/traditional; how the hell did we drop in the polls?!?) Wisconsin Badgers (8-0 overall, 5-0 B1G) finally returned to Camp Randall Stadium after what seemed like months on the road and beat the scrappy Iowa Hawkeyes (3-5 overall, 2-4 B1G), 38-17.

The Badgers, as has been tradition recently, started off slowly. Iowa marched right down the field on the first drive of the game and scored a touchdown, which the Badgers matched later in the first quarter but Iowa had the momentum thanks to a dominant rushing performance.

Roundtable: What is your favorite sports video game ever? - Peachtree Hoops

For 'Video Game Week' across SB Nation — and in keeping with other themed roundtables in recent weeks — writers from the Peachtree Hoops staff chimed in with answers on their favorite sports video game ever.

That Hawks team was really fun too, though. Josh Smith was one of the top dunkers on the planet, and Joe Johnson was in his prime as a volume scorer. Mike Bibby could spray in some threes, with Al Horford & Co. rounding out a solid squad.

Top 5 Most Awaited Video Games of 2020 - EssentiallySports

Let’s face it, 2020 has been pretty cruel to us so far. But hey, how about this for a silver lining: An entire roster of amazing video games are set to release this year. The hype is real, and we CANNOT keep calm.

* * *

The story is set in the post-apocalyptic United States and the events pick up 5 years after The Last of Us (released in 2013). Ellie, a 19-year old girl, gets into a conflict with a mysterious Christian Cult and has to survive against hostile humans and cannibalistic creatures infected by the mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus. Captivating and horrifying at the same time, The Last of Us Part II looks as promising as its first installment.

Video Game Week: What's the best hockey video game from your childhood? - St. Louis Game Time

Whether you're a kid at heart or still a kid, you probably have a fond memory attached to a hockey video game.

For those of us who are fans of video games, and who are fans of hockey, hockey video games hold a special place in our hearts. Personally, as a child of the 80s, I've had the chance to play a lot of hockey games through the decades. Some of them were inventive and groundbreaking and fun, and some where this:

The first real candidate for us old farts is Ice Hockey for the NES. Manifestos have been written about what people's line-up preference was. Personally, I enjoyed one hefty bruiser, two medium guys, and one beanpole.
