As part of the American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) brand, it has 148 stand-alone stores and 174 side-by-side stores connected to American Eagle locations. In addition, Aerie brand merchandise is sold online at www.aerie.com. Despite its stores being closed for seven weeks due to the pandemic, Aerie's Q1 sales were down only 2% because of high demand in its online business which grew 75% from the previous year.
