Hot Time Notebook: MLS announces 95 clubs for new youth league - Hot Time In Old Town
The new Major League Soccer "Elite Player Development Platform" is looking a lot like the now-defunct US Soccer Development Academy, at least in terms of the clubs involved.
MLS announced 65 former DA clubs are joining the new youth developmental league. In Illinois, Sockers FC and FC United are both set to join the Chicago Fire Academy in the league.
The league will have more than 8,000 players across the U.S. and Canada, and the idea remains the same as it did with the DA—to let the best players face each other year round.

In addition to masks, sanitizing stations and plexiglass barriers, temperature screenings will likely be the new normal at North American airports.
As is now common in many Asian airports since SARS and Ebola, your temperature may be automatically scanned by a thermal camera you hardly notice. Or someone may train an electronic thermometer at your forehead.
Whatever the technology, given the continuing impact of COVID-19 on society, travel temperature checks at North American and at more overseas airports are coming.
10-year-old girl creates curtain so she can hug her grandparents during coronavirus crisis -
Ten-year-old Paige of Riverside, California, decided to do just that after seeing a video of people using a blanket to hug their family members. Paige wanted to hug her grandparents and keep them safe.
Using a shower curtain, Zipoc bags, a hot glue gun and disposable plates, Paige, with a little help from her mom, came up with a design to make her vision a reality, according to ABC 7 Eyewitness News, Los Angeles.
"She came up with the idea, she laid it out in the family room and spent multiple hours working on it," said her mom Lindsay Okray.

A few weeks ago, the whole Internet was in an uproar when they learn that a reboot of Gossip Girl was in the starting blocks of the next HBO Max, the future platform for streaming of Warner. The two original creators, I named Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, will take over the reins of this project that is expected already on a firm footing. The Candid, Unhinged Comedy of Rachel Sennott
Sennott's Twitter holds evidence of the expanses of the male psyche; DM screenshots ranging from lewd comments to doting followers who ache for a chance to take her out to a pasta dinner date, all begging for her attention and the chance to be immortalized. This devotion can be fun to toy with, she explains to me while standing on a chair to get better reception from her parents' house where she's isolating in Connecticut.
It's this type of awareness that makes Sennott a cut above the rest. Reply guys are at her beck and call — if she's in the mood for it. It extends to her Instagram persona, an account that firmly eschews coyness in favor of the deadpan. "I think the way women are perceived on Instagram is that you have to be hot, but it also has to be a secret," she explains.
