“We get a lot of ‘oh, where are you from?’ and it’s mainly ‘oh, we’re kind of by Fresno,'” said junior guard Kylie Brasil. “So, we’re really looking to put ourselves on the map.”
Just two seasons ago, in only the ninth year of existence for the small school out of Hanford, the program won a lot of games, finishing 32-5, and capping off the special season with a Division V state title.
“It was so incredible,” said Brasil. “I was a freshman, and it was a really good experience.”

With just over four minutes remaining in Saturday night’s Class 3A sectional final between Indian Creek and Cardinal Ritter, the moment was there for the Braves to take control of the game.

Elks announces Hoop Shoot winners
Hot Springs Elks Lodge 380 hosted the state Hoop Shoot championships for all 13 Elks Lodges in Arkansas on Feb. 1 in Hot Springs.

Boys and girls, 8 to 13 years old, represented their local lodges and competed for the state championship in their respective age groups.
First-place winners in each of the three age groups, 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13 years old, for boys and for girls, will be sponsored, along with their families, by the Arkansas Elks to travel to Paducah, Ken., in March to compete in the regional finals. Winners at that level will be sponsored to go to Chicago to compete for the national championship.
