MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- Researchers at UW-Madison are helping kids get an early start on mindfulness training.
UW-Madison's Center for Healthy Minds partnered with the University of California to create a video game that teaches middle schoolers mindfulness and breathing awareness.
The game is called Tenacity and it was created for research purposes only. The game requires players to count their breaths by tapping a touch screen to advance. It leads players through relaxing landscapes such as ancient Greek ruins and outer space.

DEAR VIDEO GAME OVERDOSE : You can limit the time that your sons are allowed to use their electronics and schedule other activities that will occupy them. It is important to have other things for them to do so that they don't feel like they are being punished when they are not allowed to play their games.

TIGA, the trade association representing the video games industry, released a Business Opinion Survey today which shows that the industry is on course for growth. 75 per cent of respondents plan to grow their organisation’s workforce over the course of 2020. 65 per cent of respondents believe that the economic and business environment in the UK is favourable to the video games industry.
TIGA’s Business Opinion Survey 2020 was carried out at the end of 2019. The survey is based upon a representative sample of 57 games businesses including small, medium and large firms, developing games across mobile/tablet, VR, PC and console.
YouTube signs Valkyrae and other gaming stars to combat Amazon Twitch
The three — Rachell "Valkyrae" Hofstetter, Lannan "LazarBeam" Eacott and Elliott "Muselk" Watkins — will move to Google -owned YouTube after years of streaming on Amazon's Twitch. They're the latest players in a battle that has heated up over the past few months, as streaming companies lock in the biggest stars.
The race got more heated when superstar streamer Tyler "Ninja" Blevins moved to Mixer in August . That was followed by Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek, whose 7 million followers was third-highest on Twitch with 7 million, moved over to Mixer in October.
