The most anticipated video games of 2020 - The Washington Post

The new year leaves us on the precipice of a new console generation. Titles like Hellblade: Senua's Saga, Halo: Infinite and Godfall are announced for next gen platforms, while others haven't revealed PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X versions (i.e. Cyberpunk 2077) and will release for the current generation. Despite this transitional period, we still have plenty to be excited about.

Cyberpunk, a science fiction sub-genre about dystopian futures and humans with robotic limbs, has a storied history in video games, with games like Deus Ex and Shadowrun. The cyberpunk trend has slowed somewhat in recent years, but Cyberpunk 2077 hopes to bring it back to the forefront.

And here's another article:

A look back at how female video game protagonists have developed this decade

We thought we would look back over the last decade of video games, pick out the best examples we could find with playable female protagonists, and get a feel for how the presence of female protagonists in games has shifted and changed over the past 10 years.

Spoilers, but we have more playable women in games than ever, and more and more of those are high-profile releases, and that's something to be pretty excited about.

The first couple of years of the decade, 2010 and 2011, were pretty quiet for video games with female primary characters, and while a few good examples do exist from that time, they were largely characters in sequels to already-existing games who either were not playable protagonists or were not the single canonical design for the character.

The 8 Biggest Games Of 2020: Xbox, PS4, Switch And PC

2019 was a weird year for video games, but an awesome one. The year before a new generation tends to be that way: publishers hold back big projects, and instead we get to marvel at projects like Control, Disco Elysium and The Outer Worlds . 2020, however, is going to be a big one. Not only do we have a huge spate of AAA titles to close out the generation, we'll have the PS5 and Xbox Series X before the year is done.

This is most definitely an incomplete list. There are more huge games coming out this year that we know about, and likely even more that we don't. But here's 8 of titles I'm looking forward to.

Ranking 2019's Best Looking Video Games

It's the end of an era, and we're finishing out the decade with COGconnected's Game of the Year award for Best Looking Game. Sure, a lot has happened in the last ten years, but let’s be honest, we can only remember the last twelve months.

One more or less knows what to expect with Mortal Kombat, so it's up to Warner Bros. to keep the visuals looking fresh, updated, and exciting for players. Mortal Kombat 11's design choices might not be for everyone, but for those who could embrace inclusion and improvements, these choices added to an already good-looking game to make it a great-looking one.

The most exciting games in 2020 that will change the industry | Hypable

Each year, the video game industry produces more hits than before. With these coming games in 2020, the ante will rise even higher.

The end of 2020 will see two new major console releases in Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X. There’s no telling where the games in 2020 will go from there, but one thing’s for sure: the gaming industry is about to see a revolution unlike anything it has ever seen.

It’s been in development hell for way too long, and now, it seems like the Final Fantasy VII Remake will actually come out. Following ex-soldier Cloud Strife and his battle with his inner demons, this action/adventure JRPG will feature a completely revamped telling of the classic 1997 PS1 game. This title is a very big deal, with it bringing one of the most iconic and critically acclaimed video games onto current-gen consoles with a fresh skin.
