Size-inclusive lingerie shop promoting body positivity coming to Bay City - mlive.com

BAY CITY, MI - A local businesswoman is on a mission to promote a positive body image for women of all shapes and sizes.

Alexa Fuhrman-Sherman plans to open a size-inclusive lingerie shop somewhere in downtown Bay City thanks to a recent financial boost from winning the CMURC 2019 Pitch-a-Dream competition.

The Pitch a Dream competition started in June and required entrepreneurs to develop business plans and submit pitches. Fuhrman-Sherman said that the process took about five months and required intensive research.

Buffalo jumps and handmade lingerie: the Native American artists 'reversing colonialism' | Art

A woman stands alone in an empty landscape, poised before a precipice. Her face is daubed with thick white paint, and she is looking back over her shoulder. On her head is a beaver-skin hat, tangled with feathers and blood-red ribbon. In front of her, the Canadian prairie stretches off into the distance.

This photograph, shot at the evocatively named Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump in Alberta, is the work of Meryl McMaster, one of a new generation of indigenous North American artists. Edge of a Moment, as the work is called, shows McMaster at the site where, for thousands of years, the indigenous inhabitants of the prairies drove entire herds of buffalo over the cliffs, producing meat and material at a scale unequalled anywhere else on the continent.

Noelle Wolf Debuts a Lingerie Collection Made by Women

The word lingerie makes me think of bombshell bras, feather-trim slips, and thongs with "Get Wild" and "Too Cool" written on the front in glitter — the kind of underwear you'd have seen at the mall in the 2000s. Lucky for us, bra and underwear options have expanded since then with more wearable, less cringey options. Enter Noelle Wolf , a sustainable lingerie company focused on bringing understated yet elegant pieces back into the mainstream.

Last month, the London-based brand launched its debut collection, a beautiful edit of silk, lace, and embroidered bras and underwear. The pieces, which are mostly sheer, feel sensual without pushing too far, and their simple shapes and monochromatic color palette highlight your body as is: no frills necessary.

Lingerie brand Victoria's Secret sales tumble amid digital era - CGTN

Lingerie brand Victoria's Secret officially canceled its annual fashion show this year. What's behind the brand's decline? Its parent company, L Brands, says that it wants to "evolve the marketing" of the underwear giant, and calling off the catwalk show had no immediate impact on sales.

There are two main arguments as to why the once ultra-popular lingerie company decided to pull its signature fashion show off air.

One school of thought is that society has become so progressive that people cannot tolerate the lack of inclusiveness of the fashion show, which has never hired any plus size or trans models to walk the runway.

Brunette Bombshell Niece Waidhofer Exposes Perky Derriere In Revealing Red Lingerie

On Saturday, model Niece Waidhofer uploaded yet another provocative post for her 1 million Instagram followers to enjoy.

In the photo, the 29-year-old posed seductively on her bed. She laid on her stomach and gazed into the camera, smiling flirtatiously. A long, gray Furby, with a tartan-patterned stomach, can be seen in the background.

The Texas native flaunted her fabulous figure in a red strappy bra and a pair of matching thong underwear. The risque lingerie left little to the imagination, much to the delight of her audience. Niece’s ample cleavage and perky derriere were put on full display. She accessorized the sultry look with red knee-high socks.

Bella Hadid seemingly shades Victoria's Secret: 'I never felt powerful' modeling lingerie | Fox

While Bella Hadid notably modeled for the  Victoria's Secret Fashion Show  on several occasions, it seems that she wasn't very happy during her time working for the lingerie juggernaut.

The model, 23, revealed at the Vogue Fashion Festival in Paris that it wasn't until September that she felt comfortable modeling lingerie -- and it wasn't for Victoria's Secret.

“Rihanna’s amazing. For me, that was the first time on a runway that I felt really sexy," she said to director Loïc Prigent, according to Women's Wear Daily . "Because when I first did Fenty, I was doing other lingerie shows and I never felt powerful on a runway, like, in my underwear."
