The Christmas cards have been read and boxed, the kids’ presents have been opened and broken and what’s left of the fruitcake is hardened to a hockey puck.

The cat has clawed down all the low-hanging bulbs and this year’s Frazier fir has dried up to a bona fide fire hazard.

Andy Davis, director for the Wilson County Solid Waste Department, encourages residents to bring their trees to the Wilson County Landfill to be ground into mulch.
