FRANKFURT — A strike by Lufthansa cabin crew over two days this week will result in the cancellation of 1,300 flights and affect 180,000 passengers, the German carrier said on Wednesday.
That amounts to one in five of the carrier's planned 6,000 flights on Thursday and Friday, the days for which the strike is scheduled.
The announcement follows a green light for the strike from a German court that earlier on Wednesday rejected a temporary injunction.

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Flights attendants’ union UFO on Monday called for a two-day strike at Lufthansa’s ( LHAG.DE ) German operations later this week, citing an ongoing labor dispute with Germany’s largest airline.
UFO said a 48-hours strike would be held from Nov. 6, 2300 GMT until Nov. 8, 2300 GMT (Nov. 7, 0000 CET until Nov. 9, 0000 CET), adding that all Lufthansa flights starting in Germany during that time would be affected.

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Lufthansa ( LHAG.DE ), Germany’s biggest airline, has filed a motion with a Frankfurt court to prevent a flight attendants’ strike scheduled for this week, a company spokeswoman said on Tuesday.
Cabin crew union UFO has called for a walkout at Lufthansa’s German operations on Thursday and Friday.
In addition to a dispute over pay and pensions, UFO has also fought with the airline in court for months over the union’s legal status.
