Google's new video game service is starting to look like a giant mess - Insider

Google is just days away from launching a video game platform intended to compete with the likes of Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

It's a hugely ambitious new platform named Google Stadia , and it aims to be the Netflix of gaming. It's such a big deal, in fact, that Google CEO Sundar Pichai himself introduced Stadia back in March at the 2019 Game Developers Conference.

Of the 12 games coming to Stadia on November 19, a single game — "Gylt" — is new. There are  three "Tomb Raider" games, making up 25% of the entire launch library.

Superliminal video game review - The Washington Post

Have you ever had that uncanny sensation of waking up from a dream when, in reality, you are still dreaming? That disorienting feeling is the sensation that "Superliminal" pursues with astounding flair. This remarkably designed puzzle game, which is very much in the spirit of "Portal" and "The Stanley Parable," uses perspective as a gameplay mechanic. Puzzles are solved by finding the right way to look at things.

This system is given a light, psychological dimension through the brief musings of Dr. Glenn Pierce whose job at the SommaSculpt Dream Therapy Program is to guide patients through a lucid dreaming experience. Dr. Pierce offers his services to people struggling with self-doubt, envy, and other negative emotions rooted in social anxiety. "Perspective is everything," is a phrase that recurs throughout Pierce's program.

A Complete List Of Video Games I Played On Paternity Leave

Here, in no particular order, are the video games I played during leave, along with my thoughts and what I assume were my daughter's thoughts at the time.

I played a ton of Arkane's immersive sim back when it came out in 2016 but never finished it, so I figured I'd give it another chance. Just like the first time, I loved it until I got to the Royal Conservatory, which was annoying enough to make me put it on pause for a while.

My daughter's review: "Either those witches can see through walls or you just suck at stealth games, daddy."

Game wars: Putting video game systems to the test before Christmas to determine which is best

DENVER — In these modern and digital times, the battle over which gaming system trumps which is even more difficult to decipher.

And as we get closer to Christmas, many people are asking which system is right for their family and kids.

It's fair to say gaming systems have come a long way since the days of Pac-Man and Super Mario Bros.

"It looks like a movie," said Amr Gad, a gaming expert at Best Buy. "It's cinematic. It's beautiful."
