ART Bus Services Lags Over Mysterious Maintenance Problems | ARLnow.com

(Updated at 5 p.m.) Some Arlington Transit (ART) riders are out of luck as transportation officials tell ARLnow that maintenance issues are cutting service.

The bus service shared today that ART routes 43, 45, 53, 87 would operate on “reduced service” and that at least three other lines (45 to S. Dinwiddie Street, 61 to N. Veitch Street, and 75 to N. Monroe Street) “will not operate.” The disruptions are due to a “mechanical issue,” according to social media posts.

BBB: Women nationwide receiving mysterious cards from ‘Jenny B’ | Fox17

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Better Business Bureau issued a warning about misleading "gift cards" mailed to women across the country, including right here in West Michigan.

* * *

"Everybody seems to know a Jenny and what it really is is a marketing ploy by a company that wants to get people to go to their websites," said Troy Baker with the BBB.

The BBB says the company behind the Jenny B greeting cards is "Mother's Lounge," and it's been given an "F" rating for pulling what some feel are bait-and-switch tactics.

"Nobody's really sure what mailing list they're using. A lot of times we're finding that the women using these cards aren't pregnant," Baker explained.

He said, "The card looks like a congratulations card. It has a receipt inside for the purchase of gift cards! Quite a lot has been going on:

Residents describe hearing mysterious sirens around Wichita Falls

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - An ominous, blaring siren has been startling people across Wichita Falls. To some it sounded almost like something out of an apocalyptic movie.

For Atzhiri Acosta hearing the sirens around 6:45 Monday morning was all too real. "I was preparing for my meditation that I do every morning and the siren just went off," she said.

The siren is right near her house by Lucy Park, "I looked to the window, and I see it spinning so I was like freaking out."

She had never heard or seen anything like it before, so she called the police. "They didn't know what was going on."

So, she texted friends, "Apparently no one had heard it. It was just me, so everyone was making fun of me," she said laughingly.

But she had not imagined it, "People were telling me that they heard it this morning also, across town."

His partner, who had accompanied him to the event, burst into tears.

"This is the third time I've painted Robert," he said. "Robert was so important to me as a baby artist in Australia. Great music. Wearing lipstick, wearing dresses."

What's painting, a multicoloured work shimmering with a synaesthetic sensibility, shows Forster floating, vibrant and kaleidoscopic, amid a white space.

His depiction of Forster was described by the judges as "[embodying] the endless possibilities of portraiture and painting".

"[It] is intriguing for its lack of solid form, and for the way in which the subject hovers on the canvas like a vibrating aura," wrote Gellatly and Milsom. "He is like a technicolour apparition; neither concrete shape nor exact likeness."
