The Area 51 Raid Was the Worst Way to Spot an Alien or UFO | WIRED

Normally, when you turn onto Highway 375 from Crystal Springs, in Nevada, a big green road sign sits near picnic tables and shade trees baking under the relentless desert sun. Navy confirms videos did capture UFO sightings, but it calls them by another name

Three videos posted online that have been described as being related to UFO sightings do indeed include footage of "unidentified aerial phenomena," a U.S. Navy spokesman confirmed.

But as for specifics, spokesman Joseph Gradisher said the Navy doesn't know exactly what the objects are.

The website The Black Vault last week first reported the Navy's "unidentified aerial phenomena" designation and said the three videos are commonly known as "FLIR1," "Gimbal" and "GoFast."

The video called FLIR1 shows an oblong-shaped object, which accelerates out of view from sensors. The group says that video is from 2004 and the "2004 Nimitz incident."

In the video called Gimbal , a crew member is heard saying "look at that thing" about an object that they said appeared to be going against the wind. One says they believed it was a drone.

UFOs reported by Navy pilots, who tell New York Times they spotted unidentified

Some U.S. Navy pilots reported seeing unidentified flying objects while training over the East Coast in 2014 and 2015 in interviews with  The New York Times . According to The Times, multiple Navy pilots spotted "strange objects" with "no visible engine" reaching 30,000 feet and going hypersonic speeds.

The Times report includes a minute-long video of two encounters Navy pilots allegedly had with unexplained aerial phenomena! In the videos, which include visual radar and voice recordings, pilots cannot distinguish what is seen on their radar screens. At one point one of the pilots says in amazement, "Look at that thing. It's rotating."

"There were a number of different reports," Gradisher said. Some cases could have been commercial drones, he said, but in other cases "we don't know who's doing this, we don't have enough data to track this. So the intent of the message to the fleet is to provide updated guidance on reporting procedures for suspected intrusions into our airspace."

Lufthansa averts strike, subsidiary airlines still hit | News | DW | 18.10.2019

A key air crew trade union called off a Sunday strike at Lufthansa after the airline offered them a pay rise. However, they still plan a walkout on flights run by Lufthansa's subsidiaries, including Eurowings.

* * *

Cabin crew trade union UFO called off a scheduled strike at Germany's Lufthansa on Friday, after the flagship airline put forward a 2% pay rise.

"Of course, this is a coup aimed at getting positive news into the press and at undermining the willingness to strike," he said. "It also means that the cabin crew has managed to make it clear to the management that the beaten path of intimidation will not work."

The union and Lufthansa still have a range of open issues which need to be settled , according to UFO representatives. The company has previously proclaimed the upcoming strike to be illegal and threatened to take legal action. In turn, UFO floated the idea of launching an indefinite walkout next month.
