The 49-year-old actor lost a jaw-dropping amount of weight earlier this year in preparation for a movie role, and Simon has revealed his wife Maureen was shocked by his skeletal appearance.
He told MailOnline: "I did have to get very, very skinny for a job I did this year and my wife was in tears about that, because I kind of got down to just skin and bone - so she wasn't happy about that."

The 'Shaun of the Dead' star said: "She always grounds me. She stops me from being a head-in-the-clouds actor p***k.
"As soon as I get home I'm picking up the dog s**t in the courtyard, though I do have a courtyard which is p****ish, to say the least."
The actor's career has gone from strength to strength since he sought help for his alcoholism in 2010 - but he also admitted it could be because getting sober forced him to combat his "issues".

Port Talbot is inundated with UFOs. The Welsh steel town is a magnet for alien spacecraft. The place is positively awash with flying saucers. This is according to the actor Michael Sheen, who claims to have had a close encounter with a formation of alien lights on his way home from school in the 1970s. The lady next door apparently spotted a flying saucer hovering over the garden. Sheen's dad also saw a UFO, on New Year's Eve, sober.
"I think Port Talbot is some kind of hub," Sheen said last week. "It's like some sort of stop-off . . . the Little Chef of the Galaxy."

Flight attendants working for smaller divisions of airline group Lufthansa are striking over pay and pensions. The UFO union's extended strike has led to cancellations at airports in Germany.

Collective action by a German cabin crew union disrupted Eurowings, Germanwings, Lufthansa CityLine and SunExpress flights on Sunday. The strike was initially set to last between 5 and 11 a.m. but is now expected to last until midnight German time (22:00 UTC), as the cabin crew UFO union decided to extend it on short notice.
The walkout affects flights operated by subsidiaries of Germany's flagship carrier Lufthansa, but not Lufthansa itself.
Airports across Germany have reported cancelations. However, while the UFO representatives described the walkout as "very successful" and said that the more than 100 flights had been canceled, Lufthansa's daughter companies said that only individual flights had been canceled or delayed by the strike.
