Two women astronauts were scheduled to perform the first-ever all-female spacewalk outside of the International Space Station on Friday, but NASA has aborted the milestone mission for want of "spacesuit availability
NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Christine Koch were set to conduct the seven-hour spacewalk together — symbolically scheduled during Women's History Month — to install lithium-ion batteries for one pair of the station's solar arrays! But when McClain and fellow NASA astronaut Nick Hague did the first spacewalk in the three-part series on March 22 (which also involved switching out aging batteries), McClain realized that her suit was too large to maneuver comfortably in, and that she needs a medium-size upper torso — aka "the shirt of the spacesuit" — to work more efficiently.

How NASA's busiest Florida spaceport is preparing for Hurricane Dorian - The Verge
Right now, the more than 8,000 employees at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral are operating under an internal status known as HURCON IV, which means that the area expects to experience hurricane-level winds exceeding 75 miles per hour within the next three days. Dorian is predicted to hit the Florida coast on Monday, September 2nd, possibly as a Category 4 storm with winds exceeding 140 miles per hour. That would make it the most powerful storm to hit the east coast of Florida since Hurricane Andrew in 1992.
Apollo to Artemis: NASA promotes role of women for return to the moon
"How perfect is that?" he said during an interview with USA TODAY. "We have this diverse astronaut corps where we can actually send the first woman to the moon and name it after the twin sister of Apollo! 0:50 First all - female spacewalk canceled, NASA says not enough medium-sized spacesuits YouTube!! I've been trying to communicate as much as possible to as many people who will listen that we are now the Artemis Generation Though not as fast as some would like, the space agency has been transitioning from male bastion to diverse workplace for decades
Vice President Mike Pence's announcement during a National Space Council meeting in March that a woman would be part of the first team of astronauts to walk on the moon elevated the goal. Two months later, NASA announced that its lunar return program would bear the name of Artemis – twin sister of Apollo, whose name graced the first lunar missions.

The Space Review: NASA’s plan for a human lunar landing in 2024 takes shape
That is, at least, the plan that is taking shape at NASA to achieve the new goal, announced nearly six weeks ago by Vice President Mike Pence, of landing humans on the south pole of the Moon within five years (see “Lunar whiplash”, The Space Review, April 1, 2019). While it wasn’t a surprise that Pence sought to accelerate previous NASA plans, whose 2028 date for a human return was criticized for being too slow, few expected Pence to bring forward the deadline by that much. Surely NASA must have a plan for achieving that goal, right?
