Mary-Louise Parker Confronts ‘The Sound Inside,’ and ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ Is Back For Blood

The play is backed by Lincoln Center Theater and the Williamstown Theatre Festival, where it was first staged last year. Directed with freighted restraint by David Cromer, it is only 90 minutes but it certainly lingers longer! Videos for Mary-Louise Parker Confronts 'The Sound 2:49 Mary - Louise Parker returns to Broadway with a powerful performance in 'The Sound Inside' YouTube!! It feels like a long dark night of two scarred souls.

He notes that she is friendless; she counters that she plays tennis with a fellow academic, but cannot name her. These two lost souls, witty, sharp and relentless in their own ways, who both love literature, are drawn to one another's intensely passionate commitment to the written word.

They're so in the moment, you may find yourself holding your breath, glad that they found each other, and slightly terrified about where their relationship may lead. And if you know Yale, then you're going to be in many-references-to-New Haven heaven.

Both characters are working on creating stories. As Bella tells us what happened to them both, she is also composing notes in a pad about what happened too. Christopher too is writing his own story, about a young man, who may or not be him, who ends up in New York City, committing a terrible act.

The Unsolved Case of the Most Mysterious Song on the Internet – Rolling Stone

With its rigid beat and dry, monotone vocals, the song sounds like a synth-pop hit you would have heard in a dance club in the Eighties. (Or at least on an Eighties Spotify station.) Close your eyes and you can imagine a music video: awkwardly lip-synching musicians, exploding lightbulbs, foggy streets. It’s familiar . But the name of the artist or band doesn’t come to mind.

That’s because, right now, no one knows anything about it: who wrote it, who sang it, or even when it came out. And for about a dozen years, a dedicated gaggle of music obsessives from around the world has been searching for any information about these three minutes of music. Throughout this quest, which intensified this summer, thousands of man-hours have been devoted to unearthing anything at all about what these zealous investigators are calling “the most mysterious song on the Internet.”

Music review: Jewell's 'Gypsy' a welcome return to the Narrows - Entertainment &

It's no wonder that Eilen Jewell is often called an Americana sweetheart. Her music embodies seemingly every aspect of the broad tent that is Americana, as at various times it is folk, country, blues, bluegrass, rock or gospel.

To put it another way, how many people do you know who could perform covers by Loretta Lynn and Willie Dixon in the same show and have it all seem entirely logical and proper? That's precisely what Jewell did Saturday night before about 400 fans at the Narrows Center in Fall River, in a 22-song show that last almost two hours.

Jewell began to seriously pursue a music career while in college in Santa Fe, often busking on the streets. By the time she got to Boston, Jewell was playing local folk clubs and coffeehouses and developing her sound with a band that included drummer Jason Beek, who would soon become her husband. Another key member still with her is Boston native Jerry Miller on guitar, adding some of his subtle magic and lending much of her music its mysterious, otherworldly feel with his concise solos and slide guitar effects.
