Multi-Center Owner Says Recession-Resistant Business Model, Advanced Technology, and Management

October 16, 2019 // Franchising.com // CHARLOTTE - Experienced franchise investors have several factors they consider when evaluating a potential new business! Rosenbauer Group - YouTube m.youtube.com /user/ RosenbauerGroup Rosenbauer is the leading manufacturer of fire service technology in the fields of fire and disaster protection. Indeed, for 150 years , its name has been a s...!! For Sam Sa, who owns four Meineke Car Care Centers in New Jersey and previously worked with a restaurant franchise, those were return on investment, operational efficiency, economic resiliency and an eye toward technology and innovation.

“I've looked at a lot of franchise businesses as part of my due diligence, and I liked what I saw with Meineke,” said Sa, 32. “If you are a forward-thinking, new generation automotive repair shop that treats it as a retail business, you will appeal to a newer customer base, and there's a very, very good chance that you're going to outperform your competitors.”

“I've been a Meineke franchisee for about a year,” said Sa. “So far, our sales have been up tremendously! My View: Students, employers are big winners as Rock Valley forges ahead on Advanced Technology

Rockford has seized on a rare opportunity, one might say a once-in-a-generation opportunity, to fulfill a longtime dream and bring a major educational institution to our downtown area in a big way where a still developing but vibrant commercial business district will enhance the student experience.

RVC leadership made the right call to establish the ATC at the centrally located RRStar building. Students will appreciate learning in a downtown Rockford environment that is vibrant yet still developing. The proximity to restaurants, pubs, City Market, and other major downtown community events and venues will provide an enjoyable and fulfilling environment where students can socialize, study together, meet new friends and enjoy their college career at the Rock Valley College downtown campus.

Renovating the RRStar building will also allow the ATC to launch sooner rather than later. RVC leadership is planning to start some fall classes in 2020 and a full opening by the end of next year, just in time for spring semester of 2021.

Valley® Irrigation Advanced Technology Uses AI to Detect Crop Health and Irrigation

This item has been supplied by a forage marketer and has not been edited, verified or endorsed by Hay & Forage Grower.

Valley Insights (valleyirrigation.com) is designed to move growers closer to autonomous crop management, generating greater returns while using fewer inputs and resources. Using computer vision, the service scouts to identify areas of over- or under-irrigation and related plant stress. It goes beyond typical aerial imaging, using artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze the visual data, detect issues and alert the grower so proper actions can be taken.

"Our initial release has been focused in the Northwest, where a late winter created a challenging season for growers," says Troy Long, Senior Director of Product Management for Valley Irrigation. "They would have been hard pressed for time to sift through stacks of aerial images provided by other services, searching for potential irrigation-related issues. Valley Insights analyzes the images and alerts growers to possible crop threats before they become big problems. It has saved our users a lot of valuable time they can now dedicate elsewhere."

New technology being tested in Memphis to battle potholes

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - As pothole season approaches, new technology is being tested right here in the Bluff City that could help get those problematic holes fixed faster.

City leaders say the program is still in its early stages, but the goal is to help "digitize the city" by using advanced technology to address potholes proactively.

"When I come across a pothole, they're not safe at all. They're real bumpy and I just think they need to be fixed," said Jason Woods, Memphian.

WMC talked to other Memphians who say they want something to be done about the potholes in Memphis.

Earlier this year, Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland announced the city would be testing out new technology to tackle potholes.

Video will be captured and processed using existing MATA bus cameras and will automatically determine where potholes and litter are located within the city.

What We Know About The Army Teaming Up With Rockstar Tom DeLonge's UFO Research Company - The

On Oct. 17, 2019, TTSA announced the Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with Army's Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC), which is now part of that service's Futures Command . The public affairs office at CCDC's Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC), situated at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan, subsequently confirmed to The War Zone that this CRADA exists and that it will be responsible for executing it.

CRADAs are unlike typical contracts and "no money exchanging hands at all" between the Army and TTSA under this present agreement, a public affairs officer at the GVSC told The War Zone . There is also "no articulated deliverable" and if a product comes out of this process, it will most likely be a written study or another similar type of report.

The ostensible goal is for Army researchers to work directly with individuals from TTSA in exploring various high technology developments, sharing resources, and any results. "TTSA's technology solutions, which leverage developments in material science, space-time metric engineering , quantum physics, beamed energy propulsion , and active camouflage , have the potential to enhance survivability and effectiveness of multiple Army systems," TTSA's own press release says.
