Army partners with former Blink-182 founder’s UFO research company to study alien technology

Much like the universe, the military's affiliation with alien-related subject matter appears to be ever-expanding.

In 2017, the Pentagon confirmed the existence of a program that existed from 2007 to 2012, the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, that was dedicated solely to investigating reports of UFO sightings.

This April, the Navy confirmed it was drafting a fleet-wide message to establish guidelines for pilots and other military personnel to report UFO sightings, the culmination of a surge in what the Navy called a series of intrusions by advanced aircraft on Navy carrier strike groups.

Sometimes the introduction of a news report will stop you in your tracks, forcing you to reread in fear you didn't quite grasp its point the first time. That was certainly the case when Mail Online published a story on Mar. 21, 2017: "An alien satellite set up more than 12,000 years ago to spy on humans has been shot down by elite soldiers from the illuminati, UFO hunters claim."

Edward Snowden Confirms Aliens Never Contacted the CIA and Moon Landing Did Happen - News18

Despite hundreds of films, science fiction and fantasy novels as well as thousands of conspiracy theories, humans have never found proof of aliens existing or ever contacting Earthlings.

In fact, Area 51, one of the most secretive military bases in the United States, is actively believed by thousands of people to be the site of alien experiments conducted by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). However, CIA employee turned whistle blower Edward Snowden recently debunked one of the biggest conspiracy theories prevalent in the US - that aliens managed to contact the US government and/or its security agencies and that the government actively hides this bit of information from the world.

In his recently released memoir "Permanent Records", however, Snowden revealed that during his time at the CIA, he had searched the CIA databases and resources find out if the US or any of its agencies had ever been in contact with extraterrestrial creatures! However, Snowden found no evidence of any official (or unofficial) contact with aliens. "For the record, as far as I could tell, aliens have never contacted Earth, or at least they haven't contacted US intelligence," Snowden writes in his recent memoir," Snowden wrote.

Edward Snowden: No evidence in CIA databases that aliens exist - Business Insider

Edward Snowden shut down the conspiracy theory that the US government is secretly harboring aliens at its top secret facilities during an episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast , which aired on Wednesday.

"I know, Joe, I know you want there to be aliens," he said. "I know Neil deGrasse Tyson badly wants there to be aliens! US Army partners with former Blink-182 frontman Tom ...www.fox5ny.com/news/us- ...tom-delong...Tom DeLonge's technological research organization, which focuses heavily on UFOs and extraterrestrials, signed a contract with the U.S. Army to form a research and development partnership for ...!! And there probably are, right?"

Speaking to Rogan from Russia, where he has been granted asylum, Snowden said as far as he knew the US government has not made contact with aliens and is not housing them at their facilities, like that of Area 51 in Nevada.

"But the idea that we're hiding them — if we are hiding them — I had ridiculous access to the networks of the NSA, the CIA, the military, all these groups. I couldn't find anything," he asserted.

Video of a mysterious group of lights in the sky captured off North Carolina's Outer Banks by a man visiting the area has gone viral on Youtube, sparking the classic debate: Was it aliens, or the military?

The video entitled “real UFO sighting,” was originally posted to the Youtube account of Williams Guy on Sept. 28 and shows what appears to be 14 glowing lights hovering motionless above the water.

The 30-second video shows Guy filming an empty ocean and sky on a boat with the lights out of frame saying, “Look, nothing in the sky at all, then all of a sudden...” Guy then turns the camera to the glowing orbs that don’t appear to be moving at all.

“Anybody tell me what that is?” Guy continues in the video, as onlookers can be heard in the background giving off sounds of shock and amazement at the spectacle.

US Army Will Study 'Metamaterials' Collected by UFO Study Group - Defense One

UFO truthers don't typically hold a lot of credibility within the research community, but today the Defense Department is acknowledging at least one such group could have some serious contributions to make.

The Army Combat Capabilities Development Command recently partnered with the To The Stars Academy to study a wide variety of different technologies and materials, most of which sound like they were pulled straight from a sci-fi movie. The cooperative research and development agreement is set to last five years and could ultimately help the Army develop new capabilities for its fleet of ground vehicles.

"To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science is a company with materiel and technology innovations that offer capability advancements for Army ground vehicles," officials wrote in the agreement, a copy of which was provided to Nextgov . "The [Academy] will share their innovations with the government, who will use its laboratories and resources to characterize the technologies and determine if they have appropriate applications on ground vehicles."
