Area 51: A deep dive into aliens, UFOs, and conspiracy

The term "UFO" was coined in 1953 by the United States Air Force. Over the years it's come to include many things people have seen in the sky.

For decades, "Area 51" in the deserts of Nevada has been shrouded in mystery with rumors that alien secrets are held inside.

"It wasn't acknowledged until 2013 that Area 51 truly existed," Barry Lewis Roth with the Colorado Mutual UFO Network said.

In 1955, the CIA was looking for a secure location for to test the Lockheed U-2 spy plane. That location became what is now Area 51.

Nearly a decade earlier in 1946, more than 2,000 sightings were reported worldwide, primarily by Swedish military.

"There was a rancher by the name of Max Brazzle that was checking out the pasture," Roth said. "He came across some debris field that had crashed there! What's Really Going On at Area 51: Maybe the Biggest UFO Party on Earth - WSJ

RACHEL, Nev.—Glenn Kaminsky put up a booth at the recent Bigfoot Daze festival in Willow Creek, Calif., to promote an invasion of Area 51, or at least a party in the same desert neighborhood.

The secretive Nevada military facility, long suspected of hiding extraterrestrials and their space ships, is ground zero for a coming assembly of UFO enthusiasts seeking close encounters with fellow travelers.

Edward Snowden Confirms Aliens Never Contacted the CIA and Moon Landing Did Happen - News18

Despite hundreds of films, science fiction and fantasy novels as well as thousands of conspiracy theories, humans have never found proof of aliens existing or ever contacting Earthlings.

In fact, Area 51, one of the most secretive military bases in the United States, is actively believed by thousands of people to be the site of alien experiments conducted by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). However, CIA employee turned whistle blower Edward Snowden recently debunked one of the biggest conspiracy theories prevalent in the US - that aliens managed to contact the US government and/or its security agencies and that the government actively hides this bit of information from the world.

In his recently released memoir "Permanent Records", however, Snowden revealed that during his time at the CIA, he had searched the CIA databases and resources find out if the US or any of its agencies had ever been in contact with extraterrestrial creatures! 1:8:45 The Aliens Among Us & Deep Underground Military Bases - Government Coverup Exposed! YouTube!! However, Snowden found no evidence of any official (or unofficial) contact with aliens. "For the record, as far as I could tell, aliens have never contacted Earth, or at least they haven't contacted US intelligence," Snowden writes in his recent memoir," Snowden wrote.

UFO debate in NC after odd lights spotted off Outer Banks | Charlotte Observer

A fleet of lights recorded off North Carolina’s Outer Banks has ignited a debate about whether they are honest-to-goodness UFOs or just part of a mysterious military exercise.

William Guy posted a 31-second video Sept. 28 on YouTube, showing what appears to be 14 glowing orbs over the water! 1:14:33 Thomas J. Carey & Donald R. Schmitt | Roswell, The Real Area 51 , & UFO Disclosure YouTube!! He refers to it as a “ real UFO sighting .”

“Anybody tell me what that is?” Guy says in the video. “We’re in the middle of the ocean, on a ferry, nothing around. Look. Nothing around. No land, no nothing.”

Guy told the McClatchy news group he’s from Indiana and is among the workers sent to repair damage on Ocracoke Island caused by intense flooding during Hurricane Dorian.

The video was filmed aboard a ferry crossing the Pamlico Sound from Ocracoke Island to Swan Quarter on the mainland, he said. The lights appeared for at least a minute and a half , he posted on YouTube.

The Black Knight Satellite: A Hodgepodge of Alien Conspiracy Theories | Space

Sometimes the introduction of a news report will stop you in your tracks, forcing you to reread in fear you didn't quite grasp its point the first time. That was certainly the case when Mail Online published a story on Mar. 21, 2017: "An alien satellite set up more than 12,000 years ago to spy on humans has been shot down by elite soldiers from the illuminati, UFO hunters claim."

There, for all to see, were images released by NASA that showed a black object hovering above the Earth in low orbit. And it wasn't long after the images were thrust in front of a hopeful public before people were performing some conspiratorial sums and sharing them with the wider world.

* * *

By way of explanation, astronaut Jerry Ross pointed out that the ISS was in the midst of being constructed when the images were taken. The U.S. team, he said, was on its way to attach the American module to the one created by the Russians and, as part of that work, they had taken four trunnion pin thermal covers with them. The task was to wrap these around four bare trunnion pins, these being rods that attached the module to the shuttle while it was being transported. This would act to prevent heat loss from the exposed metal.

Edward Snowden: No evidence in CIA databases that aliens exist - Business Insider

Edward Snowden shut down the conspiracy theory that the US government is secretly harboring aliens at its top secret facilities during an episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast , which aired on Wednesday.

"I know, Joe, I know you want there to be aliens," he said. "I know Neil deGrasse Tyson badly wants there to be aliens. And there probably are, right?"

Speaking to Rogan from Russia, where he has been granted asylum, Snowden said as far as he knew the US government has not made contact with aliens and is not housing them at their facilities, like that of Area 51 in Nevada.

"But the idea that we're hiding them — if we are hiding them — I had ridiculous access to the networks of the NSA, the CIA, the military, all these groups. I couldn't find anything," he asserted.
