Palo Alto home burglarized while residents sleep
PALO ALTO – Authorities are searching for three burglary suspects who broke into a Palo Alto home while the residents were sleeping.
Officers were called about 10 p.m. Saturday to a home on the 100 block of Cerrito Way for a report of a residential burglary, according to Palo Alto police spokeswoman Janine De la Vega.
De la Vega said an investigation revealed a couple in their 50s was sleeping when a noise and the sound of someone running stirred the husband from his slumber! Two people who were walking by the home at the time saw three suspects holding bags jump into a white newer model Toyota sedan and drive away eastbound on Los Robles Avenue.
The suspects were described as men in their 20s, each about 5 feet 7 inches tall with athletic builds. At least one is white; the race of the others is unknown, according to De la Vega. They were last seen wearing black hooded sweatshirts and black baggy pants.

A doorbell camera capturing the moments that a suspected drunk driver careened out of control and slammed into several parked cars.

Neighbors say it was the sound of screeching tires that alerted them something was about to happen. An entire block of south Adams startled from their sleep as a car crashed, banged and smashed into seven parked cars.
"Yeah. I had to wake up my husband, he didn't even hear it," said the woman, who wish to stay anonymous.
"It was enough that he jumped up and was crying and we just were, it was very startling," said Micken.
State police say they had a brief interaction with the driver, but for unknown reasons, he sped off, blew a stop sign and then lost control.

The Eurocopter EC 135, operated by Bond Air Services, had been returning to its base on the banks of the River Clyde.
Experts from the Air Accident Investigations Branch (AAIB) gave evidence at the inquiry, with one expressing frustration over the lack of evidence from the flight.
It also found fuel transfer pumps were turned off and a controlled landing was not achieved for "unknown reasons".
On the final day of the inquiry in August, Sheriff Principal Turnbull acknowledged that the delay in holding it had caused great distress.

In 1971, Makavejev became a world-wide critics' darling after WR: Mysteries of the Organism screened at the Berlinale and Cannes. This wild and explicit docu-fiction reflection on the relation between communism and free love, based on the works of controversial Marxist psychotherapist Wilchelm Reich , was met with outrage in Tito's Yugoslavia. A "public court trial" was staged in a Novi Sad cinema, where the screening of the film was followed by a debate between film professionals and low-level Communist Party representatives of factories and public companies.
Although the Yugoslav security service forbid any recording of the event, sound recordist Slobodan Miletić managed to sneak in equipment and produce five reels of tape of audio material. Radovanović opens the film with Miletić, Nagra and mic in hand, arriving at the multiplex which now stands in the place of the old cinema. Two young men are bringing in a lectern, and a boy on a skateboard rolls in Tito's bust.
