NASA holds public meeting on UFOs ahead of final report | PBS NewsHour

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — NASA held its first public meeting on UFOs Wednesday a year after launching a study into unexplained sightings.

The space agency televised the hourslong hearing featuring an independent panel of experts. The team includes 16 scientists and other experts selected by NASA including retired astronaut Scott Kelly, the first American to spend nearly a year in space.

NASA UFO panel in first public meeting says better data needed | Reuters

WASHINGTON, May 31 (Reuters) - The first public meeting of a NASA panel studying what the government calls "unidentified aerial phenomena," commonly known as UFOs, kicked off on Wednesday to discuss findings since its formation last year.

"If I were to summarize in one line what I feel we've learned, it's we need high quality data," said panel chair David Spergel during opening remarks.

UFOs will remain mysterious without better data, NASA team says | Space

NASA held the first public meeting to discuss the findings of its UAP independent study team today (May 31).

The group, formed in June 2022 , aims to examine data related to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), a new term that encompasses objects or incidents in the sky, underwater or in space that can't be immediately identified.
