Machine Gun Kelly Responds to Megan Fox's "Daddy Issues" Post - PAPER

If there's one thing we know about Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox , it's that they're probably Hollywood's most openly intense celeb couples. But in case you needed further proof, look no further than Megan's most recent Instagram post — not to mention her boo's very racy response.

On Thursday, the Transformers star stunned at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards in a skin-tight, hot pink jumpsuit and, naturally, wanted to post the incredible look to her Instagram feed. And while the caption jokingly referred to herself as "Daddy Issues Barbie," it turns out that MGK's response was the thing that actually raised eyebrows.

"Daddy loves you," the "Bloody Valentine" singer wrote underneath the photo alongside a crown, heart and (dubious) knife emoji. However, his kinky comment that was quickly met with mixed reactions from fans, some of whom thought it was hilarious and hot, while others just deemed it "gross" and encouraged him to "delete this."

Granted, the spicy public exchange shouldn't come as much of a surprise seeing as how both the self-proclaimed " twin flames " have been super candid about their whirlwind romance. After meeting on the set of their movie, Midnight in the Switchgrass, the couple have talked about everything from their thrilling date night adventures to MGK's necklace containing her blood . More power to them, right? But until they reveal their next intimate relationship tidbit, you can check out Megan's post — and MGK's comment — below

Tracee Ellis Ross Goes Bold in a Cut Out Top, Pants & Heels – Footwear News

On Sunday, the “black-ish” star took to Instagram to share a photo of herself in “work” clothes. Posing from her backyard, Ross sported a turquoise set from Maisie Wilen. The look featured a perforated turtleneck and coordinating pants. Ssense.com offers the top in pink for $272.

Cut out and skin tight looks are having a major moment this season. Aside from pieces from Maisie Wilen labels like Christopher Esber, Alexander McQueen, Chloé and Chanel showcased different iterations of the trend on their spring ’21 runways. The style is big among fashionistas as it offers an element of surprise to a traditionally classic article of clothing.

As for Ross, the actress teamed her peek-a-boo set with a pair of pointed toe pumps in the same hue of her Maisie Wilen set. The shoes, which sat atop a sharp stiletto heel, gave the look a monochrome finish — another big trend we can’t get enough of this year. The styling hack, which has been around for decades but made its 2021 debut at the presidential inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala when the vp, First Lady Jill Biden and former First Lady Michelle Obama all wore looks of one shade — is an easy way to make outfits feel complete, luxurious and classic with little to no effort.

'Dennis and myself and Simon — my fiancé — were sitting there, and it was such a magical moment of just being grown adults and being mature and wanting to do the best thing,' she remembered.

Nashville music industry says city could do more for reopening - Marketplace

Dee's Country Cocktail Lounge is a self-professed ’70s-inspired “dive,” with a modest stage and a less modest disco ball. The roughly 100-person venue shut down mid-March 2020, and stayed that way for five months because Nashville's capacity limits made it too costly to reopen.

Now that things are starting to open again, co-owners Amy Dee Richardson and Daniel Walker wish the city would step up and better support music venues.

"I would like to see some more help coming from the government in the observation that, 'Hey, we are Music City, so let's go ahead and protect our musicians, our artists and the venues that support those musicians more,'" Walker said.

So far, Nashville –– which is indeed known as Music City –– has not. That’s pushed Nashville's independent venues and musicians to try and navigate reopening on their own.

Musician Colleen Orender started playing at Dee's again to small audiences. She says the city didn't do enough to let people know that there are ways to safely see shows. "Music is a draw for everybody that comes to Music City, that's what we are called, so they should have figured that out first," Orender said.

The mayor's office said the local vaccine rollout should trickle down to benefit musicians and venues. But the city still lags behind the national average for vaccine rates.

Nashville does have a fund it uses every year to solicit ideas to bring visitors to Nashville. This year that fund, which comes from hotel taxes, is estimated to be about $2 million in size –– with fewer people stayed in hotels during the pandemic, the pot is smaller than usual. One idea from a local nonprofit group, Sow Good, is to have a concert series.

"This is Music City," said Sow Good board member Mark Eatherly. "Not only should we have recovery concerts, they should be the best recovery concerts in the world."

Some shoppers may have noticed that their grocery bills are higher lately. Prices for energy and used cars and trucks are also up . Jayson Lusk, head of the agricultural economics department at Purdue University, said that multiple factors have been pushing up food prices, including China purchasing more American products recently, more people driving and pandemic-related challenges in supply chains and workforces. Also, wages are up, although productivity has been growing faster than labor compensation for decades. "I expect inflation to probably continue for the next half a year, at least," Lusk said.

Bartlesville library offering free music streaming

The Bartlesville Public Library will offer patrons free music streaming beginning June 1 through an agreement with Freegal Music.

The library previously had CDs for checkout, but stopped, in part, because the CDs kept disappearing, library Director Shellie McGill said.

"Plus, there was such a complete lineup of different music, it was hard to decide what to carry. Now that there's streaming, we can offer it again. It's something a lot of libraries offer, and the community was reaching out to see if we would offer that service. … (Subscribing to the service) has been in our long-range plan for three years," McGill said.

Freegal offers access to a collection of 15 million songs, audiobooks and music videos from labels that include Epic, Sony Music, RCA and Columbia.

"We have locked into a two-year contract to see if it's something our community will use, and I think they will," she said.

Library leaders are also researching a new program exempting sales tax on equipment used to provide internet to underserved communities. Signed into law by Gov. Kevin Stitt on May 24, House Bill 2946 also establishes a $4,000 grant program for the equipment.

McGill said Bartlesville Public Library plans to apply. In October, the library used CARES Act funding to purchase 30 internet hotspots for checkout by patrons to extend internet access.

"The Music of Queen" with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra slated for Saturday, June 5.

We did two drive-in shows in Atlanta in the fall. We did the Bowie show on one weekend and Zeppelin the following weekend and that was it for 2020. We actually had two crews out in the middle of March of last year. One group was going to Kansas City and one was already in Denver. They were setting up for their show and the governor said, 'Oh, yeah, we're done. No events as of this moment.' They literally just looked up, packed up their gear, got on a plane and came home. I was scheduled to go to Kansas City for two Stones shows, so thankfully that governor shut it down before we got on the plane. I was ready to leave the house and head to the airport when I got the news.

We just started up again in early April. We did three shows in Oklahoma City but that was streamed. They had a few people in the audience, but it was limited to 25% capacity or something like that. They're short shows, you know, 65-minute shows. They didn't want people milling about in the lobby trying to get drinks and stuff like that. They weren't selling drinks or snacks or anything like that. They were just doing single shows, which is kind of what we're doing in Dayton. We're doing a single set rather than a full show but we're doing two of them, one at 6 and one at 8:30.

Oh, yeah, I believe 2009 was the first time we did it and it's hugely popular. We've been all over the world with it. They're one of the biggest bands ever, particularly in Europe. They're massive there but, I mean, they're huge here too. It's pretty amazing because we sell out show after show. The movie in 2018 helped big time. We exploded on top of what we were already doing. That was really crazy.

Not really, it was more so, 'What do I want to do next? Who is the next group we're going to do?' It was interesting because Sony sent me a note that said, 'Hey, we just signed Def Leppard to a publishing deal and they'd love for you to do the show.' So, our next show up will probably be Def Leppard. The guys in that band are obviously still out touring, but they're all excited we're actually going to be doing the show. It's always great to hear, 'We want you to do our music.' That's just fantastic.

It's slowly opening up. We've got six shows booked in June so that's good news. Now, our normal June is way more than that. In June 2019, we probably did 13 shows that month. We had zippo in 2020 so the fact we have six shows this June is fantastic. That's really good news. A lot of smaller orchestras couldn't actually afford to do streaming or to keep their staff on the payroll. They're just now getting back in the offices and trying to wind things back up and getting marketing and development on the way again. We're getting calls every day now as orchestras start coming back online and that's great.

BTS's 'Butter' Music Video Is The Biggest In The World By An Enormous Margin

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 26: V, Suga, Jin, Jungkook, RM, Jimin, J-Hope of musical group BTS ... [+] attend the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards at Staples Center on January 26, 2020 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images)

No matter what metrics anybody looks at, one thing is clear: BTS's "Butter" is a massive hit on every platform it's available on. The track is racking up incredible streaming sums and is surely selling incredibly well, but it's on YouTube where the tune's official video is performing not just better than any other upload on the site, but leading the charge by a huge margin.

BTS's latest monster release is in a very, very distant first place among all the most popular videos on YouTube in the past week, as the title that winds up at No. 2, Jubin Nautiyal's "Lut Gaye," only managed to earn 41.4 million plays in the most recent tracking frame. That means the South Korean septet's new single beat the second-most-popular release on the platform this time around more than five times over.

As if coming in at No. 1 wasn't enough of a show of dominance for BTS, the band also debuts another new clip at No. 4 on the weekly ranking of the most popular videos on YouTube. The vocal act's performance of "Butter" at the Billboard Music Awards racked up an impressive 29.6 million plays, enough to make it the fourth-most-watched post of the week.

DJ Double M finds happiness in music despite visual challenges | wusa9.com

WASHINGTON — Music is a universal language. It helps get us through some tough times and brings us joy in the good times. It's the sounds of happiness from the audience that makes one D.C. Disc Jockey happy, despite any challenges he may face.

When DJ Double M is on the ones and twos, the crowd moves and grooves. He's the man behind the sounds, keeping folks on the dance floor.

"When I was very young. And coming up to a teenager. I tell everybody the radio was my best friend," John Colbert said.

Colbert has had a love for music for as long as he can remember. It's been a light for him in a world of darkness.

"I'm laughing because everyone always asks me that question and is surprised when I tell them no," Colbert said.

He lost his sight when he was 3 years old. He was born premature and doctors predicted this would happen. It was before he had a chance to learn colors, memorize faces, and see the world around him.

"It was so gradual, and I was such a young age that by the time it was totally gone, it wasn't a big deal to me," Colbert added.

"If I can play something that makes you feel good, makes you forget about some trouble for a while, then as far as I'm concerned, I've done what I'm supposed to do," Colbert said.

Reopening of business is music to Las Vegas' ears - Las Vegas Sun Newspaper

Rick Springfield performs during a free concert Aug. 12, 2017, on the 3rd Street Stage at the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas. From midnight Monday, May 31, until 4 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, the "Downtown Rocks Again!" event will feature eight acts on three stages as the city celebrates the reopening of business.

The countdown is an annual tradition in downtown Las Vegas on New Year's Eve. Three, two, one ... "Happy New Year!"

And, just like that, a new year with new opportunity awaits the tens of thousands of locals and visitors packed into the Fremont Street Experience to celebrate.

Downtown will host another, arguably more significant countdown tonight as the calendar flips to June 1, signaling the end of pandemic gathering restrictions in Clark County.

It seems only fitting that a recorded message from Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman will be played on the Experience's "Viva Vision" digital display canopy just prior to midnight. Goodman is a fixture at the downtown celebration on New Year's Eve.

In a statement sent to the Sun, Goodman said she is "excited" about Las Vegas being "fully open for business."

"You can feel the enthusiasm and energy building as more and more visitors are coming to our city," Goodman said. "People are ready to travel safely and have a good time, and there is no better place for that than Las Vegas."

On the heels of a Deadmau5 concert at the nearby Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on May 21 — a performance that drew about 10,000 spectators — the "Downtown Rocks Again!" event will feature eight acts on three stages.

The band lineup June 1 will include acts such as Alter Ego, Zowie Bowie, Rock Steady, Velvet Elvis, Spandex Nation and Crush. There will be no charge to enter the pedestrian mall area.

What Is Asian American Music, Really? | Pitchfork

For Wong, the concept of an "Asian American jazz" had crystalized several years earlier. At Stanford, he and a friend would discuss McCoy Tyner's Sahara , DownBeat's 1973 album of the year; its cover features Tyner holding a Japanese koto. "We'd talk about what an Asian American jazz would be like," he remembers. "Not just Asian Americans playing jazz standards—but what would we actually contribute?"

The Bay Area was especially ripe for cross-cultural exchange. The saxophonist John Handy, who rose to fame as a member of Charles Mingus' band, was playing gigs with the sitar player Ali Akbar Khan. The famous jazz district the Fillmore, known as the "Harlem of the West," bordered Japantown. Headlining the first Asian American Jazz Festival was the Afro-Asian quartet United Front—which, according to member Anthony Brown, was one of the first ensembles to incorporate traditional Asian instrumentation and sensibilities in a progressive jazz format, while also foregrounding lyrics that spoke directly to racial injustice. They integrated concepts of breathing and space that bassist Mark Izu had learned from studying gagaku, or ancient Japanese court music. "In gagaku, everyone takes a group pause called the ma," Izu says. "You can't monitor, like in Western music, whether you've added a sixteenth note."

When I was younger, I felt like "Asian American" was an itchy and cumbersome inheritance. I didn't know about the decades of activism and history; all I knew is that I didn't like having strict parents or being subjected to casual racism. I wanted to be spontaneous and brash, go to parties, express my political convictions, indulge in the fantasy of making serious art—and I didn't see that freedom as available to me. I was hungry for role models, any who could rattle the rigid, tyrannical ideas I'd absorbed about what Asian Americans were allowed to be. Over time, I've become wary of rhetoric that assigns too much radicalism to an artist's existence—they're visible; we are the same race; thereby I am empowered. There is plenty of music by Asian American artists that I find uninspired and even embarrassing.

If we say a piece of music makes us "feel seen," then we also owe it to ourselves to parse what about it is so invigorating, what it reveals to us about our own subjectivities. We should ask what new language it offers us, in the subtler details of rhythm, tone, metaphor, phrasing. I want more art, and our processing of it, to help assemble our personal experiences into something more than just isolated narratives. A persistent form of dehumanization against Asian Americans is the erasure of our longstanding involvement in this country, including its music. By looking to the past, and to each other, we might be able to strengthen our collective sense of belonging. We might recognize ourselves anew.

Heidi Klum poses in a red string bikini ahead of her 48th birthday

Just days away from turning 48 on June 1, the German beauty spent Memorial Day weekend by the pool in the company of husband Tom Kaulitz, 31. The couple were joined by by Kaulitz's twin brother and Tokio Hotel bandmate Bill Kaulitz and some canine pals.

Klum, who inspired the nickname "The Body" during her days as a Victoria's Secret Angel, has in the past credited her upbringing with helping her feel comfortable showing skin.

"I grew up in a very free environment with my parents," she told Ocean Drive magazine in 2018. "We'd go to nude beaches. We're very open-minded, but you can't say that about all Germans. We didn't have a lot of money, so we'd go camping a lot and my parents chose nude campsites, so nudity became normal for me. You stand out more if you cover up. And I loved it."

Klum, who has also launched a swimsuit collection, also told the magazine, "I tend to not wear a whole lot of swimsuit when I am sunbathing. So I usually go for a tie-string bikini, something that has less coverage, and if no one is around, I'll wear only the bottom. I grew up being very comfortable with my body and very free."

Model Anne V Takes Ex Adam Cahan to Court For Child Support | Adam Cahan, Anne V : Just Jared

In the petition to acquire more child support from Adam, Anne claims that since she has not been working steadily over the past year, she is seeking more child support to cover expenses for her and Alaska .

"Because of the pandemic I did not earn very much last year. While I had a total of 17 paying jobs in 2020, half of them did not pay. In the last six months, I have had only six jobs — working two times a month at most," legal documents state.

Anne does own a pricey West Village apartment and has a big savings account and investments. However, she only made $77,687 in income last year, down from $431,000 the year before.

She also says that Adam is able to pay the $8,500 as he has netted at least $25 million during his six years as senior VP for mobile and emerging products for Yahoo. He is also currently the head of a start-up called Pax Labs, and "likely" brings in $150,000 to $300,000 for his work on two corporate boards.

"I want to note for the court that I have made every effort to resolve this matter with [Cahan] amicably," documents added. Anne went on, saying that she and Adam have worked for a year to settle custody and child support issues but when it came time to formalize an agreement, he did not respond.

Adam currently pays for Alaska ‘s medical insurance, her private school tuition in Manhattan, as well as extracurriculars "that he thinks appropriate."

However, he allegedly doesn't pay any base child support and refuses to pay for child care. Anne is also seeking sole legal and primary custody of their child, for Adam to pay for summer camp, transportation to and from school, future college expenses, and $50,000 for legal fees.

In 2009, the model had a high-profile relationship with Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo , until 2015. She began dating actor Bradley Cooper in the same year, and the couple welcomed their daughter Lea De Seine in March 2017.

Shayk memorably walked the runway in the 2016 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show while six months pregnant. The two later announced their split in June 2019. In a March 2021 statement to ET Online , the model called Cooper "the most amazing dad" but refused to speak on anything else related to her ex-boyfriend.

Kate Upton Shows How 'Pool Days Look A Little Different' For Her - The Inquisitr

Kate's post consisted of two photos. The first was a shot from 2014, when she rocked a bronze swimsuit for a Harper's Bazaar photoshoot. Her feet were clad in a pair of stylish wedge heels, and she was striking a classic modeling pose in front of an otherwise deserted pool that appeared to be part of a luxury resort. Palm trees reached for the sky beyond the opposite end of the turquoise water, and a row of empty striped loungers lined one side of the pool.

According to E! News , Kate's first pic caused a stir when it initially appeared on the Harper's Bazaar website because some fans were convinced that her right armpit was photoshopped to make it look thinner. She followed up the possibly retouched pic with one that was as real as could be. In it, she was actually making use of the pool instead of using it for a backdrop. She rocked a solid black two-piece and a straw hat. She was photographed struggling to stay afloat on a pink inflatable pool raft.

Kate's adorable daughter, Genevieve, was adding a little extra weight to the float, making it sink down below the water's surface in the middle. As Kate laughed, the tot reached up to grab the brim of her sunhat.

Kate's husband, Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander, took the comments section to reveal that he was a fan of the candid photo of his wife and daughter having a blast in the water.

"Again reality looks so much better! 😂 So much love, so sweet! 💗💗☀️," read one message from a fan.

Kate's daughter, whom she calls "Vivi," often appears on her Instagram page. The happy twosome can be seen working out together , hanging with Kate's horses , and going hiking . Justin also spends plenty of quality time with his daughter, but his attempt to educate her about his sports career has been a bit of a failure. As reported by Us Weekly , Kate told Jimmy Fallon that Justin has been showing Vivi some of his highlight reels. However, the two-year-old is hilariously convinced that he's a pro golfer.

"I think she thinks he's actually a golfer. She's seen him golf more than she's seen him play baseball," Kate stated.

Kate realized this when they were watching the Masters and Vivi yelled "Daddy!" while pointing at the television. "I was like, 'No, that's not what he does. He's not that good,'" Upton recalled.

6 Things That Demonstrate Chrissy Teigen's Diverse Income Stream

The foundational elements of Chrissy Teigen's wealth and fortune were hinged on her supermodel status. She made her debut on the cover of Sports Illustrated Magazine in 2010, and has since been one of the most recognized swimsuit models in the world. Her stunning beauty and incredibly seamless ability to comfortably model bikinis and swimwear has resulted in Teigen being one of the highest paid models in the entire world. According to Nicki Swift , she was ranked number three on the Forbes "list of 'the world's highest-paid models' in 2017 as well as 2018." To put this in perspective, Teigen's earnings were just a bit behind that of Gisele Bundchen and Kendall Jenner, earning millions of dollars for each appearance.

Her work includes the 2007 Maxim calendar, multiple covers for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, and Cosmop0litan, to name a few.

Being the business-minded woman that she is , Teigen has turned her passion for cooking into a lucrative source of income. She has published her Cravings cookbooks with huge success. In fact, Cravings: Hungry For More made it to the New York Times Best Sellers list, increasing Teigen's earnings with this boost of recognition.

Teigen features her recipes and mouth-watering images on all her social media channels, and of course, uses this platform to segway into selling her very own line of cookware. Teigen's kitchenwear collection is available for sale through Target, and has been flying off the shelves since it first launched. This line includes pots, pans, plates, and all kinds of kitchen necessities that fans excitedly scoop up.

Understanding the value of TV appearances has ensured that Teigen remains well paid, and well recognized. She has a bubbly, very charismatic personality that draws in the audience, making her highly sought after as a host and judge on popular television shows. Chrissy Teigen's most loyal, long-time fans remember the days that she appeared as a back up briefcase girl on Deal or No Deal , back in 2006, at the same time that Meghan Markle was on the show as well.

She has co-hosted Lip Sync Battle with LL Cool J and been a judge on Bring the Funny, each of which paid her an astronomical amount of money.

Most celebrities take advantage of trading their image for an endorsement fee, and Chrissy Teigen is no stranger to the concept. In fact, she relishes in the moment. She has earned millions of dollars by modeling for and speaking on behalf of huge brands such as Gillette, Olay, Gap Factory, UGG Austraila, Nike, Venus, and so many more. She has even appeared to represent her own cosmetic palette for Becca and joined forces with Pampers at one point as well.

Taking part in their campaigns has proven to be an incredibly lucrative, multi-million dollar venture for Chrissy Teigen.

Perhaps one of the most fun and exciting income streams embraced by Teigen is that of commercial participation. She and her husband, John Legend, have starred in commercials for Google Assistant as well as Target, Pampers, and Hulu.

Martin Scorsese Produced This New Film Directed By A Queer Woman, Starring A Black Asian Trans

"This is something I've always wanted to do," said Bloom in a phone interview prior to the movie's release. She plays Wye, a 17-year-old trans girl of color who meets Paul, played by Fionn Whitehead, upon his arrival at the titular Manhattan bus terminal. Wye introduces the newly homeless teen from America's Rust Belt to her kiki ballroom scene. Love blossoms, and complexities follow.

"I feel like I've always been out, in a sense," Bloom told me. "I've always been me; I've always been out. I've never been in the closet, actually. I think the world just started noticing me."

"I worked with her in auditions," Lessovitz said, of which there were many, according to Bloom. "I knew that she could listen and I knew that she could respond in an authentic way. But I didn't know that take after take, she could bring out these new layers in every performance. And so when we got into the edit room, it was like just having a wealth of options and different moments. And it was incredible working with her."

Lessovitz told me in a phone interview she got this break in large part because someone pushed her to take a chance that legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese would bankroll her debut.

"He started a fund for young filmmakers and they were looking for projects," said the San Francisco native, an MFA graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. A classmate there believed Lessovitz had just the kind of project that Scorsese was looking for.

"I need to make a role for Afrika, because, you know, they're a gem," Lessovitz said. "I don't know that people have actually kind of witnessed how great they are. And I was almost extracting stuff they had said to me or to other people and just placing it in the film and letting letting them do their thing, just being an incredibly insightful human being."

"When I hear myself speaking in this role, I'm like, 'This is me. This is me, as who I am in ballroom.'" said Afrika in a phone interview. "I'm a mother. I'm a father to some, but a mother to most. That line, 'I know I may look like a father but I'm a mother by nature,' because I've always known how to nurture and guide."

"Oooh! My category would be Runway!" they said. "I've been told that when I walk, people say it's like there's like a herd of animals following behind me."

Bloom said more than anything, Port Authority tells the story of "a love that's different from everyone else who only see black and white."

Rihanna Proves Loafers Go With Truly Anything—Even Lingerie | Vogue

There's little that Rihanna can't pull off. In the past, she's taken bold accessories such as square-toe heels or giant fuzzy hats , and made them look completely effortless on the streets. This summer, Bad Gal Riri is of course continuing this energy—this time by pairing a classic shoe with lingerie, to great effect.

Reading a Playboy magazine, she kicked back in her own Savage x Fenty separates, and finished off the look with white Gucci loafers with a chunky black heel. Continuing the theme of unlikely pairings, she wore them with bright yellow socks. When we think of a heeled loafer like these, we traditionally think of office wear, or a smart, dressy look—but paired with micro-shorts, Rihanna proved the footwear can also be alluring and super cool, too.

So, do like Rihanna, and consider pairing your loafers with anything but a suit this summer, too—whether that be a day dress, a pair of jeans and a tee, or, yes, lingerie. Yes, they can have a place in this summer of skin!

Brooke Shields' sexiest ever snaps as she turns 56 – from bikini babe to lingerie - Daily Star

Brooke Shields appeared on the front cover of Vogue aged just 14 and went on to become one of the most recognisable faces in America.

She became known for her provocative fashion shoots including a controversial Calvin Klein campaign which helped catapult the designer's career.

She continued to model into her late teens and then took on a number of roles in dramas such as The Blue Lagoon and Endless Love.

Brooke is known for her strong, athletic look and still maintains an incredible physique, which she shows off on her Instagram page.

Now, as the actress celebrates her 56th birthday, the Daily Star has taken a look at some of her hottest photos.

The model and actress sizzled in this scarlet bikini which she wore for a Swimsuits for All campaign when she was 52.

Ageless beauty Brooke told the brand in 2018 that her "'Power Suit' is being in my own skin, showing my body and not hiding it".

Her social media is full of photos of the star frolicking in the waves, surfing or showing off the modelling poses she knows so well.

The use of black and white only accentuates the mum of two's long legs which have made her so iconic.

The Top Rosés for Summer Come With Bubbles, In Cans, and Even Boxed

An employee restocks a shelf of champagne and wine at an imported luxury goods store. (Photographer: Carlos Becerra/Bloomberg)

(Bloomberg) -- You can't escape rosé this year. But why would you want to? It's inspiring everything from street festivals to lingerie labeled "rosé" instead of pink. The wines are now in cans, boxes, and fancy glass bottles that look as if they hold perfume.

Some have bubbles, most don't. Others come as ready-to-drink rosé spritzers or seltzers, or no-alcohol pink wines infused with hemp. Oh, and they're made of grape varieties that span aglianico to zinfandel.

Even London's Covent Garden district is in the clutch of blush fever. Its first ever Rosé Festival opened on May 17 and will last through June 6. What's on offer? Ice-cold rosé cocktails, rose petal infused prosecco, frozen rosé, and cute bicycle carts peddling rosé in cans, the summer's hottest pink wine wrinkle.

In other words, rosé has become a mood and a state of mind. Frankly, most of us are ready for some joie de vivre after the year we've been through.

What's driving the continuing pink production madness, of course, is numbers. According to market research firm IWSR, rosé wine sales volume in the U.S. has grown by 118% from 2015 to 2020. Online retailer Wine.com lists more than 350 different labels. Rosé prosecco has been such a huge hit that Italian wineries are predicting a shortage.

One reason people love rosé so much is color. There isn't just one, but a range from the palest onionskin hue of many from Provence (though some blush deeper than they used to) to the deep cherry-pink of Italy's Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo. So it's no surprise to hear that Bordeaux's Famille Bouey of Château Maison Blanche has created a new rosé brand, Colors , inspired by specific hues from color specialist Pantone. Watch for Colors 721, a merlot rosé from Bordeaux, and Colors 719, a grenache rosé from grapes grown around the Mediterranean. They haven't been released yet, so I don't know whether the taste is as fashionable as the hues.

Snoop Dogg just launched his bold, fruity Snoop Cali Rosé under the 19 Crimes label for $12. NBA player CJ McCollum's first Heritage 91 pinot noir rosé (made by Oregon's Adelsheim winery) sold out in three hours when it was released in April.

Still, Provence remains rosé's spiritual home and the world's go-to spot for reliably pale examples with subtle aromas and that mineral tang that makes them ideal with food. In the past two years, at least six Bordeaux château owners, as well as French luxury company LVMH, have snapped up estates there. Chanel's Wertheimer brothers now have two. George Clooney's Provence vineyard buy has been stalled for now.

Alexandra Patsavas ... music supervisor) video interview - GoldDerby

“This was a wonderful project to be a part of,” declares Alexandra Patsavas , the music supervisor of Netflix ’s “ Bridgerton .” The period drama about finding love in 19th century London has become one of the most popular shows of the season, thanks in part to its music, which often features reimagined versions of contemporary hits. In an exclusive video interview with Gold Derby ( watch above ), the Grammy-nominated producer discusses the challenges of putting a classical spin on modern pop music.

Patsavas is no stranger to working with executive producer Shonda Rhimes having worked as music supervisor on “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal,” and many other “Shondaland” shows. With “Bridgerton,” Patsavas describes the unique challenge of bridging the worlds of contemporary and classical music. “It is very interesting to think about making sure that the musical character of ‘Bridgerton’ is inviting, is contemporary, but it is fitting for the period,” she explains. I think that the idea of instrumental covers of current iconic pop songs was something that we talked about before the first episode was shot.”

The series includes a number of current pup songs reimagined as classical compositions, including “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish , “Thank U, Next” by Ariana Grande , and “Girls Like You” by Maroon 5 . Many of those covers are performed by the Los Angeles-based group, Vitamin String Quartet , a group with whom Patsavas was quite familiar. “A string instrument is the closest thing to the human voice,” she says. “I really think those kinds of performances can be so exquisite and so emotional.” Patsavas says she was not expecting the audience’s reaction to VSQ, which saw their streaming numbers increase a whopping 350 percent. “It’s super rewarding to understand that they have new fans as a result of ‘Bridgerton,'” she exclaims.

Working on the series proved challenging on non-musical levels as well thanks to the Covid pandemic. Patsavas describes having to do post-production work on the series via zoom separate from her collaborators . “This was my first experience of being in a room this way– in a zoom room, watching the cut,” she explains. However, she also believes that the show’s quality comes across, pandemic or no pandemic. “I just think it’s so good,” she exclaims. “It’s entertaining. It’s cheeky. It’s uplifting.”

BTS's 'Butter' Hits 100 Million Spotify Streams In Record Time

BTS's "Butter" has officially been out for one week now, and to the surprise of absolutely nobody who pays even remote attention to pop music, it has gotten off to an explosive start on streaming services, posting the biggest seven-day streaming total in Spotify history—sort of.

The Korean pop septet's delectable new single collected 99.37 million Spotify streams in its first seven days, according to the platform's stream counter. It cruised past the 100 million mark on its eighth day (May 28), lifting its total to 110.481 million. It's the fastest song to hit 100 million streams in Spotify history, and the biggest first-week total ever, according to the stream counter.

Alas, when the official first-day total for "Butter" came out, Spotify had shaved off nearly 50% of its reported streams. Streaming services implement filtering as a safeguard against "low-quality" streams, i.e. songs that are looped ad nauseum or played on mute or super low volume in an obvious attempt to juice the numbers.

Spotify is less precise in the explanation on its own website, claiming only to use "a formula that protects against any artificial inflation of chart positions." As a result, "the data might look different from other reported stream numbers we share (e.g. in Spotify for Artists, the desktop app, and other custom usage reports)."

Whether BTS's new song dethrones Olivia Rodrigo's streaming juggernaut "Good 4 U" on the Hot 100 remains to be seen—and eagle-eyed fans should expect an excruciating wait for the charts to refresh this week, given the holiday weekend and the potentially tight race for No. 1. But no matter how the Hot 100 shakes out next week, BTS have earned themselves another win. Butter Summer has arrived.

This article has been updated with information about Spotify's streaming calculation formulas from both Spotify and Music Business Worldwide.

Pop music, like Hollywood , is a dream factory: a place where you can be anything you like, as long as that's not a middle-aged woman. I'll hit the last year of my 30s next week, with the number one spot in the country held by a woman who has her driving licence but isn't old enough to drink. Cannot relate. In either respect. Thank god, then, for the return of Liz Phair.

Last seen ruffling the feathers of indie purists with side-swipes into pop (2003's self-titled album) and hip-hop (2010's Funstyle ), Phair has spent much of the last decade working on film and television soundtracks, a box set 25th anniversary reissue of her groundbreaking debut Exile in Guyville , and the first volume of her memoirs , Horror Stories . Those trips into the past prompted a return to the studio with old friend and collaborator Brad Wood - producer of the California-via-Chicago songwriter's first two and a half albums - but the results capture a magic far beyond nostalgic trickery.

The album takes a little bit of everything that makes Liz Phair great - the candid lyrics she first became known for, the irresistible pop hooks of her turn-of-the-millennium reinvention, the memoir-meets-short-story of her prose and sonic tricks straight out of the composition handbook - and throws it all in a blender, creating something both unique and uniquely Liz. Songs shift gear halfway through: album opener "Spanish Doors" cycles through grinding guitars on the verse to hit a sweet spot of a chorus, complete with audacious vocoder harmonies; "Hey Lou", an upbeat rocker which imagines Laurie Anderson and Lou Reed at opposite ends of the dinner table, takes a dreamy detour down 5th Avenue; "Ba Ba Ba" lurches from cello and nursery rhyme lyrical percussion to alt.rock romance. "Sheridan Road" is both a simple acoustic composition and a triumph of sound design, the ambient sounds of Phair's native Chicago "merging, converging" with a lovers' trip down memory lane. The whole thing is dizzying first time around, delightful as you burrow your way deeper with repeated listens.

Phair, who'll be opening for Alanis Morissette on a rescheduled UK tour later this year, said in a recent interview: "If you had told me at 23 that I would still be doing this, that would have seen revolutionary to me". But to those of us who grew up in her shadow, this revolution comes as no surprise.

Exploring 1974, an unexpectedly seminal year in America - Anchorage Daily News

Writers often use specific years in the titles of their books to demonstrate what the book is about. The year 1776 has been used many times as shorthand for the American Revolution. So has 1865, for the end of the American Civil War.

Veteran journalist Ron Brownstein, now of the Atlantic magazine and CNN, has chosen 1974, although the complete title of his new book is the mouthful "Rock Me On The Water: 1974, The Year Los Angeles Transformed Movies, Music, Television, and Politics."

For those not around in 1974, "Rock Me On The Water" is the title of a Jackson Browne song. Browne figures prominently in Brownstein's L.A. tale. So does a Brown without the "e" – Jerry.

The year 1974 is not obviously important in history. It's remembered best for President Richard Nixon's resignation during the summer, following the Watergate revelations. Brownstein tells us vividly why 1974 mattered.

"Chinatown" is a story of corruption so deep and pervasive that it is ultimately unfathomable to J.J. Gittes — played by Nicholson. The rich and powerful have stolen the water that feeds Los Angeles. Then they go on to unspeakable intimate crimes. Director Roman Polanski wasn't unspeakable to Nicholson's co-star, Faye Dunaway — the criminal acts that forced him to flee the country came later — but he was nasty and abusive on the set.

L.A. music, in the Brownstein telling, is almost exclusively rock/pop, although there is a chapter on Motown's Berry Gordy moving to southern California and Bill Withers coming from nowhere to stardom at Sussex Records.

It's no wonder Linda Ronstadt recorded "Poor Poor Pitiful Me." Before she became a megastar, the men in the music industry had only two things to say to her: "I want your body," and "Shut up, you don't know anything, you're a girl." The relentless sexism of pop music circa 1974 is not surprising but hard to take for a male reader of almost 50 years later — even one not woke. If you were after the world's cutest girl, wouldn't it make sense to smile at her? The groupie culture intensified the sexism. Women were constantly available and expendable. It may be that Ronstadt took up with Gov. Jerry Brown because he didn't pinch her in the elevator and would ask "What do you think, Linda?"

Comedian Bob Hope said "We can all be proud of TV, and its owner Norman Lear." For Lear and CBS, the mid-1970s were the hit shows starting with "All in the Family" and the money that followed. Lear dominated the ratings, his shows accompanied on CBS by "M*A*S*H" and "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." Brownstein explains that CBS executive Robert Wood was instrumental in putting "All in the Family" on the air. Wood saw no future for rural-themed shows — "The Beverly Hillbillies," "Hee Haw" — and was willing to take risks with Lear.

BTS Makes Being a Korean-American Adoptee (a Little) Easier - Popdust

On a typical day, I'm BTS-fatigued, but I can no longer feel annoyed with this Korean wave in American pop culture.

The 7-member K-pop band's latest single, "Butter," has broken world records this past week, and I still don't want to have kids.

The seven-year-old says she looks like me, which is pretty accurate. I mean, I have freckles and I'm taller. She has straight hair, and mine is wavy. But with our black hair, pale skin, and broad cheekbones we share a resemblance, despite not having a single strand of DNA in common.

Although my nieces are still working on the simple geography of their small suburb where I also grew up, I've mentioned that both their dad and I were born Somewhere Else called "Korea" (I can't wait to explain that their dad is, literally, my brother from another mother).

As they get older, we'll get around to words like "adopted," "naturalized citizenship," and the grosser ones like "model minority" and "yellow face." At some point, I'm sure "banana" will be revised, too: "Yellow on the outside, white on the inside."

But for now, they certainly don't know where Korea is… And these days I still wonder who actually does. Growing up in a rural, predominantly white suburb in the '90s, everybody I met was like my nieces, in that they had no clue what or where Korea was. During standard education's requisite five minutes of covering Asian history, this map was agonizing. Truly, take a guess where Korea is, I dare you.

But in the last 20 years, it seems every aspect of childhood has changed. Kids want to grow up to be YouTube stars (did you know some 10-year-old named Ryan makes $30 million a year by reviewing toys and yelling a lot on his channel?). Toddlers can ask Alexa to play " Baby Shark " until you shut off the Internet, and every toy ad these days looks like a diversity pamphlet compared to what I grew up with (RIP the unbearable whiteness of '90s candy commercials ).

But of all the cultural differences that demarcate my childhood from that of my nieces, the most obvious one is BTS.

It started around 2008, when Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube greatly aided the cultural phenomenon of Hallyu , or the Korean wave. Today it seems like Korea's eminence is everywhere, from Korean skincare products hailed as holy grails within the beauty industry to Korean dramas populating on Netflix.
