NASA Has Reached Out To SpaceX For Rescue Of Potentially Stranded Astronauts | IFLScience

Three weeks ago, the Russian Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft sprung a leak as it was attached to the International Space Station (ISS). In the immediate aftermath, a spacewalk had to be canceled but a more serious concern became clear as time went on.

Decades-old NASA satellite due to re-enter atmosphere, low threat | Space News | Al Jazeera

The chances of falling satellite debris posing a risk to "anyone on Earth is very low", NASA said in a statement on Saturday.

Most of the 2,450kg (5,400lb) satellite will burn up on re-entry but some pieces are expected to survive, according to NASA.

Orion back at Kennedy Space Center so NASA can dissect Artemis I mission – Orlando Sentinel

The Orion space capsule from Artemis I has come full circle, having launched from Kennedy Space Center, traveled 1.4 million miles in space and around the moon, splashed back down to Earth in the Pacific Ocean, and now journeyed 2,500 miles over land for its return to Florida.

NASA chief says 2023 will be a 'game-changing' year for space | Space

The completion of the space agency's Artemis 1 mission , the successful first launch of its new Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the return of the uncrewed Orion capsule after its trip around the moon, put a nice bow on the end of NASA's year in 2022. 

Former Senator and current NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said as much in a recent video released by NASA at the start of the new year.

NASA faces budget crunch for extended Earth science missions - SpaceNews

WASHINGTON — NASA will allow three aging Earth science missions to participate in an upcoming senior review of extended missions even as the agency warns of budget pressures on its overall portfolio of missions.

During a town hall Dec. 15 at the Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union, NASA officials said they agency had invited the Aqua, Aura and Terra missions to submit proposals in the 2023 senior review of Earth science missions that are in their extended phases.
