Manheim Township girls drop Lampeter-Strasburg, continue hot streak with playoffs on deck |

Manheim Twp.'s Ali Quinn (10) puts up a three point shot against Twin Valley during first half action of the Manheim Twp. Holiday Tournament Championship game at Manheim Twp. High School Monday December 30, 2019.

For Manheim Township's girls basketball team, Saturday's nonleague game at Lampeter-Strasburg was all about building more momentum.

Playing for the third time in as many days, the Blue Streaks didn't have quite as much pep in their steps as usual. But they got the job done and kept the mo going.

While you're here, how about this:

Am I Hot Enough to Vote for Bernie Sanders?

Imagine you’re in a crowded room with famously hot people Cardi B and Ariana Grande. Suddenly Miley Cyrus walks in, accompanied by equally beautiful and brilliant performers Lil Yachty and Willow Smith. International sex symbol Emily Ratajkowski is over in the corner, chatting with Mark Ruffalo and Dave Bautista. The impossibly good-looking comedian Rob Delaney is joking around with Prabal Gurung.

To raise money for the campaign, a viral movement would need to be started, like a “Sexy Cop Calendar,” but paperless, online, and probably devoid of cops. The call to action was simple: on January 24, “Post a selfie with the hashtag #HotGirlsForBernie” to “join forces with our reply guys and hot girls around the country to get Bernie Sanders elected.” To be clear: “You are hot if you support Bernie.

THURSDAY SCHOLASTICS: Hot start turns cold for Panthers; LH girls topped by Hand; Martinez

Sparked by nine points from junior guard Wallica Bailey, the Panthers bolted to a 15-4 lead on visiting South Windsor.

Then came the second quarter and the picture changed irreversibly. The Bobcats outscored Platt 20-4 and went on to a 61-38 CCC interdivisional victory.

Scoring depth told the story here. Bailey finished with 17 points for Platt and Ja'lexia West had 11 — essentially matching the production of South Windsor leading scorers Maria Galley (17) and Jasmine Ramirez (13).

Hot-shooting CF girls down West, 67-58 | Basketball | wcfcourier.com

CEDAR FALLS — Seventh-ranked Cedar Falls was short-handed Friday, but the hands the Tigers had available couldn't have been much hotter.

Cedar Falls had six players make at least two 3-pointers and made 14 total en route to a 67-58 win over No. 8 Waterloo West in Mississippi Valley Conference girls' basketball action.

"That is what we had to do," Cedar Falls head coach Gregg Groen said. "Waterloo West is one of the better teams in the state and a match-up problem for us in a lot of different areas. We knew we were going to have to shoot the ball well from the outside just to have the opportunity to win the game."
