Kim Kardashian is speaking out after a panel of judges and jurors reached a verdict in her jewelry heist trial.
In 2016 during Paris Fashion Week, Kardashian, 44, was held at gunpoint in her hotel room as a number of people stole $9 million worth of her jewelry, including a 20-carat diamond ring gifted to her by then-husband Kanye "Ye" West, according to prosecutors.
On May 23, eight people were convicted of crimes connected to the robbery, while one was acquitted. One defendant was convicted on a weapons charge that was not directly tied to the robbing of Kardashian. Most of the 10 defendants are in their 60s and 70s.
Upon hearing the news, the Skims co-founder expressed her gratitude and commitment to advocating for justice in a statement.
Kardashian's legal team — Michael Rhodes, Léonor Hennerick, and Jonathan Mattout — also stated that she appreciates the court's decision and thanked French authorities "for treating her with great respect throughout the process."
They noted it has been a long journey "from that terrible night back in 2016 to her standing courageously in a historic Paris courtroom to confront these criminals."
