NASA’s SpaceX CRS-29 Mission Overview - NASA

s SpaceX CRS 29 mission is a critical resupply mission to the International Space Station (ISS) that is scheduled to launch on May 1, 2023.

The mission will be carried out by SpaceX, a private aerospace manufacturer and space transportation services company founded by Elon Musk. SpaceX has been contracted by NASA to transport cargo to the ISS since 2012, and the CRS 29 mission will be the 29th resupply mission under this contract.

The CRS 29 mission will launch on a Falcon 9 rocket from NASA s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The rocket will carry a Dragon spacecraft, which will be filled with approximately 6,000 pounds (2,700 kilograms) of cargo, including scientific experiments, crew supplies, and spare parts.

The scientific experiments being transported to the ISS include a study on the effects of microgravity on the immune system, a study on the behavior of fluids in microgravity, and a study on the growth of plants in microgravity. The crew supplies include food, clothing, and personal hygiene...

NASA's  ILLUMA- T (Laser Communication from Space) investigation tests technology to provide enhanced data communication capabilities on the space station.

ILLUMA-T and LCRD create NASA's first two-way laser communications relay system. Laser communications can supplement the radio frequency systems that most space-based missions currently use to send data to and from Earth.
