WASHINGTON, July 12 (Reuters) - Billionaire Elon Musk said on Wednesday he thinks China is interested in a cooperative international framework on artificial intelligence, from conversations he had when he visited a few weeks ago.

Billionaire Elon Musk on Wednesday said artificial general intelligence (AGI) would be the finale event after five years in the AI space.
He said there was a consensus around the world, including in China, on the need for AI oversight and regulation.
Drawing parallels with the regulation on nuclear technology, Musk said AI is potentially dangerous on a civilizational level, in that it should be taken careful going forward.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is a 38-member bloc, spanning mostly wealthy nations but also some emerging economies like Mexico and Estonia.
There is little evidence the emergence of AI is having a significant impact on jobs so far, but that may be because the revolution is in its early stages, the OECD said.
