Trial delayed again for ex-Honolulu officials accused in conspiracy case

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The conspiracy trial for the former Honolulu employees who orchestrated the payoff of disgraced ex-Police Chief Louis Kealoha could be pushed back until next spring.

The federal judge is considering several motions filed by the defense team of former city attorney Donna Leong, former city managing director Roy Amemiya and former police commission chair Max Sword.

Woman given 46 months for conspiracy

JACKSON — A Neshoba County woman was sentenced to 46 months in prison for her role in a conspiracy to distribute hydrocodone and methamphetamine on the Choctaw Indian Reservation, the authorities said.

The woman, Joyce Cauthen, 55, of the Pearl River community, participated in the conspiracy to distribute the hydrocodone and methamphetamine, according to court documents.

McHenry woman gets 2 years probation for criminal conspiracy of marijuana – Shaw Local

Tiffany Barnett, 37, was initially charged with Anthony J. Riotto with manufacturing and delivery of marijuana, a Class X felony, as well as possession of more than 5,000 grams of marijuana, according to court documents.

"The evidence against her was pretty weak," Barnett's attorney Matthew Haiduk said after the hearing. "This law is basically an archaic law that won't even be viable in 10 years. She was charged with being a part of an unlicensed dispensary.
