Trump banned TikTok and WeChat. Are video games next? - Los Angeles Times

The second order was a curveball. In a tangle of commas, it prohibited "any transaction that is related to WeChat," a messaging app ubiquitous in China and used by more than a billion people around the world, with Tencent Holdings, WeChat's parent company, "or any subsidiary of that entity."

There's a reading of this that means that @realDonaldTrump just declared war on League of Legends, Fortnite, and Valorant.

That he basically just declared war on gamers as a whole.

I'm sure that will work out nicely for him.

Facebook slams Apple's App Store policies, launches Facebook Gaming on iOS without games - The

Facebook is joining Microsoft in condemning Apple's App Store policies today. The social media company is launching its Facebook Gaming app for iOS — primarily an app used to watch streamers play video games — but has had to remove the app's mini games feature to pass Apple's strict App Store approval process. Facebook isn't happy about the compromise.

"Unfortunately, we had to remove gameplay functionality entirely in order to get Apple's approval on the standalone Facebook Gaming app — meaning iOS users have an inferior experience to those using Android," said Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook's chief operating officer in a press statement given to The Verge . "We're staying focused on building communities for the more than 380 million people who play games on Facebook every month — whether Apple allows it in a standalone app or not."

Stiles emerges from the bathroom into a faceless world where invisible students walk past him — their only identifying markers are the backpacks, ear buds, or other objects they carry. "Time can turn good memories bitter," his mind tells him at one point while at another point it counsels him that "you're not getting anything by rewinding these thoughts." Although the external personification of his mind can be a source of sound advice, generally it is full of reproach and derision.
