Martha Stewart can grow an entire pantry's worth of vegetables, prune a boxwood shrub and bake the f--k out of a red raspberry pie. But she's not suggesting you try any of that at home.
Asked by Dr. Oz during an April appearance on his talk show, "How are you going to be a better Martha Stewart when this is over?" she got all the way real. "I am going to scream and break every window within 10 miles if you say you get better with this kind of challenge," she responded, inspiring stressed shut-ins around the world to start the slow clap. "I find that it's the kind of person you are to start with. It's hard to get better with such a disaster."

Without football season, what becomes of Virginia's boys (and girls) of fall? - Virginia Mercury
This pathogen from hell has already deprived the world of the Summer Olympics, the magic of March Madness and, for the most part, baseball.
Primary elections were delayed, holidays deferred and long-planned (and prepaid) vacations are put off indefinitely.

Amid that process, the statewide sanctioning body for interscholastic competition, the Virginia High School League , announced the cancellation of fall football with the possibility of a truncated mid-winter makeup season, God willing and pandemic permitting.
Rebekah Iliff: Riding in minivans with girls - Opinion - Morning Sun - Pittsburg, KS
We piled into the minivan, one by one, like an anxious group of kids heading to vacation Bible school. To passing drivers, the scene must have looked ridiculous: a handful of thirty-something women dressed to the nines, donned in red lipstick, hair coiffed to perfection in the dead heat of a Midwestern summer. My mascara slipped from place and formed dark rings under my already-tired eyes.
Somewhere between ages 15 and 25, I’d filed minivans into the same category as Dr. Scholl’s sandals: something I’d never be caught dead "doing." Out of respect for my minivan-driving mother, I’d kept these opinions mostly to myself because I didn’t want her to think I wasn’t grateful for the steady rotation of carpool, ballet drop-offs, and 6 a.m. swim team runs.

Boys & Girls Club reopens for ton of safe fun
It was a long four months for the staff at the Arlington Boys & Girls Club. After all, kids are their business.
Lots and lots of kids. Babies. Tots. Tweens. Teens. Boys and girls. Being away for so long was like the sun missing the flowers. The staff ached to hear kids return to their building on Spy Pond. They missed the splashing in the pool, the squeaking of sneakers in the gymnasium and most of all the loud banter of happy kids.
On July 13 the Arlington Boys & Girls Club reopened its doors for the Kids Zone program. The club had spent six weeks adapting its procedures and training the staff in response to state and local Covid-19 health and safety guidelines. The staff was ready and excited. You can only imagine the joy they felt when the first camper arrived.
