SPRINGFIELD — Shannon Reno was emotional after the Millbury High girls’ basketball team lost to defending state champion Hoosac Valley, 42-38, in the Division 3 state semifinals Tuesday night at Western New England University.
The senior point guard knew that not only did her high school basketball career come to an end, but that she had played her final game for her father, Woolies coach Steve Reno, and her last game with her twin sister, Kelsey.

SHELTON — Some teams are built for the postseason, and the Hamden girls basketball team appears to be one of them.
After finishing the regular season losing six of its final eight games, No. 19 Hamden has now won seven straight playoff games, including the SCC championship, after its 43-37 Class LL quarterfinal victory over No. 11 Shelton Monday night.
Brandon was once again the sparkplug for Hamden, leading all scorers with 16 points to continue her string of strong tournament performances.

Megan Thee Stallion Tells Coachella To Not Cancel 'Hot Girl Chella'
The global spread of the coronavirus is causing a lot of people and industries to change their plans, and that includes plenty of folks in the music business. It has been heavily rumored that Coachella will be postponed this year , but Megan Thee Stallion , who is set to perform at the fest, has warned Goldenvoice that they better not cancel, as she calls it, “Hot Girl Chella.”
A TMZ cameraperson caught up with Megan over the weekend, and he only managed to have an approximately 40-second conversation with the rapper. Still, he made solid use of his time, and he wrapped up the chat by asking if Megan has any concerns about Coachella possibly being canceled. She responded, “All I know is, Coachella, y’all better not cancel Hot Girl Chella.”

Another chapter has been added to Glenwood Springs High School's storybook basketball season, as the Demons boys and girls programs both garnered player- and coach-of-the-year honors.
Glenwood Springs landed eight players total, four players each for the Demon boys and girls, among the 4A Western Slope League All-Conference selections.
Leading the way were the dual Players of the Year, seniors Mitchell Burt and Natalya Taylor. And earning Coach-of-the-Year recognition in voting among their fellow league coaches were Demons mentors Fred Heisel and Rhonda Moser.

Monopolies have been outlawed on Championship Weekend in Hot Springs, although rematches and repeat winners are still permitted in the 2020 state high-school basketball finals.
No school has more than one team playing in Bank OZK Arena this week. From 24 teams will come 12 state champions, six per classification, as Hot Springs hosts the gala event for the 13th time in 14 years Thursday through Saturday.
At least seven new champions will be crowned with both Class 6A and 5A winners from last year along with reigning Class 1A girls, 3A boys and 4A girls holders absent. Izard County (1A boys), Melbourne (2A girls), England (2A boys), Mountain View (3A girls) and Magnolia (4A boys) are possible repeaters.
