STEVENS POINT – Shock wore into elation on Saturday night as 24 women finally received recognition for sports they played over 50 years ago.
In May 1972, the first graduating class from Stevens Point Area Senior High received their high school diplomas. Two months later, on June 23, 1972, Title IX was signed into law.
