" American Idol " resumed on April 28, with performers hoping to make the Top 10 of the competition.
According to USA TODAY , the ABC competition show shed two more contestants during its April 28 show, after whittling down the competition to the Top 12 the night before.
Contestants Desmond Roberts and Amanda Barise were eliminated on April 27, during the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame -themed episode. On April 28, the remaining contestants performed songs that reflected how far they've come in their journeys under former Idol winner Fantasia's guidance.
By the end of the night, the fan vote resulted in the elimination of the first platinum ticket winner of the season.
Idol judge Fantasia, a singer and actress from High Point, North Carolina, was the Season 3 winner of "American Idol."
