A welder adjusts his torch from the top floor of the Elfgen Building in downtown Alton where the roof has been removed above him leaving steel rafters. The roof has been removed so it can be rebuilt to accommodate a rooftop patio.
The work is part of the multi-million dollar job of converting the Wedge and Elfgen buildings into the new Wedge Innovation Center.
