Mat-Su Assembly urges Arctic Winter Games to protect girl's sports in 2024 events

The Mat-Su is hosting the upcoming Games in March of next year, when approximately 2,000 young athletes from around the circumpolar world are expected to compete in events across the Mat-Su.

Held every two years, the weeklong event features 21 sports, ranging from badminton and table tennis to team sports like basketball and ice hockey. Winter sports include skiing, snowboarding and biathlon, among others.

High School Girls' Ultimate Frisbee Team Dominates After Adding Biological Boys to the Roster

“In the spring of 2022, the girl's team tacked ‘non-binary’ onto its name and has been winning game after game ever since.”

Middleton High School's "Girl's/Non-Binary Varsity Ultimate Frisbee Team" defeated its competition for a second year in a row at the state championship tournament, two years after allowing biological males who identify as female or "non-binary" to join the team.
