For CGT training, the future’s virtual reality - BioProcess InsiderBioProcess International

Students in Birmingham, UK are being trained in the production and administration of cell and gene therapies (CGTs) using virtual reality software . BioProcess Insider spoke with Professor Ivan Wall, co-founder and CEO of FourPlus Immersive, to find out more.

Wall's company produces virtual reality (VR) software that students and biopharmaceutical industry professionals use to train in good manufacturing practices (GMPs), which recreates the hands-on experience of cleanroom manufacturing.

Golf gains popularity in virtual reality

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) - Put on a VR headset, and instantly you can be standing on the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale. "Our mission is to make golf more accessible by using technology," said Ryan Engle, the Co-Founder and CEO of Golf+.

All of the data for the game came right from the PGA, so the layout and the green contours are exactly the same as they are for the pros. "You see the crowd and even though they're all virtual, you're surrounded by a colosseum of people," Engle said.

Put on a virtual reality headset and, chances are, it will look like you are viewing the world through a screen door. Current flat panel displays use pixels that are visible to the naked eye, along with small bits of unlit dark space between each pixel that can appear as a black, mesh-like grid.
