PA House votes to protect girl's sports | News | huntingdondailynews.com

In a strong, bipartisan vote earlier this week, the PA House of Representatives passed HB 972, the Fairness in Women's Sports Act, by a vote of 115-84.

"This important bill preserves decades of hard-won opportunities gained for women and girls in sports – something now under attack as women are being forced to compete against biological men," said Alexis Sneller of the Pennsylvania Family Institute.

Some other election bills that were introduced in the House of Representatives involved the chain of custody for ballot paper, and another would have allowed public inspection of ballots before certification. These bills did not pass the legislature.

“What’s challenging about all of these [education] bills is if you look at the bill, and you read the bill, it’s confusing. The interpretation is different for everybody,” Nguyen said.

Lawmakers urged to support controversial bill

INDIANAPOLIS — The 2022 Legislative Session wrapped up a few weeks ago, but already, there are people looking toward the 2023 session.

"It's troubling, disheartening, but I'm not surprised to see it," Sen. Ford said. "I think this is an attempt to put this on the radar for legislators to start writing a bill for the 2023 session."
