There were three things that jumped out at me from D.C. District Judge Amit Mehta's decision that lawsuits targeting former president Donald Trump and two extremist organizations could move forward.
Before moving forward, it's very important to qualify those sentences in two ways. The first is that Mehta is not saying that this conspiracy was proved; rather, that it was not implausible that it might be. It's the difference between going to trial and reaching a verdict.

A Pakistani man was sentenced today in the Northern District of Illinois for a health care fraud scheme and money laundering conspiracy.
Muhammad Ateeq, 33, of Rawalpindi, Pakistan, was sentenced to 12 years in prison and ordered to pay approximately $48 million in restitution. In addition, Judge Manish Shah ordered the forfeiture of a $2.4 million cashier's check and over $1 million in cash.

Rhodes is accused, with 10 other defendants, of coordinating travel, organizing into teams, undergoing paramilitary training, and staging weapons, ready "to answer Rhodes' call to take up arms at Rhodes' direction" before, during and after Jan.
